2016! A new year...new goals...new achievements!
*Spring 2016 Update*
I started a new program called Isagenix. If you want more information regarding this program check out my blogs or send me a personal message. I FEEL AWESOME since starting! I have way more energy, sleeping better, feeling better, etc... I just can't rave enough! I am hoping to keep up with using this super food and hoping it will get me to my goal weight. I am so close!!!
2015 was a great year for me on achievements. I ran my fastest half marathon time getting below 2:00:00. Just squeezed it in at 1:58:26 but I did it! Then I ran my first FULL marathon! What a great year it was. The scale however stopped moving for me in March 2015. I have been on a plateau since then jumping between the same 5 pounds. I have been here before and it probably was because of my intense training all year with my running. So this year I want to get back in focus on the scale. I want to start seeing that number drop again. I only have about 25 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. That is a doable amount to lose for the year so that is what I am aiming for. I also will blog monthly and have monthly goals to hit.
Along with some monthly goals, this year I also started a fitness bucket list. I started trying new things last year and had a blast! I found a new love of the water and now love to paddle board. There is so many other things I want to try! So this is the year!!!! Each month I will post a new fitness adventure to try. My hope is that by January 2017 I will have tried 12 new things. Wish me luck! (Or join me in starting your own fitness bucket list!)
2015 is going to be my year to finish my weight loss goal and start maintaining. It feels good to say that!
It seems like I have been on this road for a long time but things are finally clicking and starting to go into place. I only have about 20 more pounds I would like to lose. This would bring me to a normal range on the BMI calculators. Along with losing my last 20 pounds I would also like to see my fat percentage go down and continue with my strength.
I can't wait to see what I accomplish this year!
2014: This is going to be my year! I am finally wanting to see the end and truly want to be in maintenance. At the end of 2013, I started seeing what works for my body. I found a way to shake things up and it helped the scale start going in the right direction. But it is much more than the scale. I want bigger and better things for myself besides getting down to my goal weight. I want to feel good in my skin and feel strong. I want to see muscle tone and definition. I want to be faster when I run. 2014 is going to be the year that I improve all of that.
This is going to be a great year... I can feel it!
Background Story on my beginning:
I started this journey back in January 2008 when I finally said, "enough is enough". I was at a high weight and not feeling good about myself. I would get winded while running around with my kids. I didn't want to be that mom.
When I started my journey it was tough. I hated going to the gym and it took my friend to join that helped get me there. But when she didn't go.... guess what, either did I. It wasn't until I started my running program fall of 2008 when I really started doing this for myself. If I didn't have anyone to workout with, I still went.
Fast forward to now and I LOVE to workout. This is what has been keeping me going and I love the way it makes me feel. I still struggle with my nutrition and balancing it all out but I am getting there. I am more confident with myself and know that I have made the life change.
I always tell my kids to never say "I can't", there is a little negativeness with that statement. Always believe in yourself.... you never know unless you try!

MY EXERCISING PLAN:
My plan consists of a mix of cardio and strength training. I usually plan for 4-5 days of running during the week, cycling class, boot camp, and then a few days in the weight room. In the evenings and on weekends you can find me biking, running, swimming, and walking / hiking.
MY NUTRITION PLAN:
- Track everyday (I use MyFitnessPal for my tracking method)
- Change it up!
- Get in enough protein
- 5 veggies/fruits
- Stay hydrated with plenty of H2O!
My name is Elaine and I am a 37 year old from Minnesota. I live with my hubby and three (very outgoing) kids. I have been married for 17 wonderful years and my kids ages are 16,15, and 12.
Things we love to do as a family.......
We are a huge sports family, all three of our kids are heavily involved with sports so it keeps us pretty busy. We also love getting outdoors which include; going hiking, bike riding, spending time at the beach or playground, camping, and geocaching! We just love the outdoors and all the changing seasons!
On a personal level, I love to take pictures, if you can't tell from my Spark page! I also love to travel (when we have the money), read, sing, and dance.
