Heart for Running

Hi! I'm a college student in Missouri. After running for two years on my high school cross country team I weighed in at 115 pounds (the smallest I've ever been), and hardly had any fat on me. Even on the off season I hardly weighed in at much over 125 pounds. However, with college comes longer classes and more time needed to sit and study, and I sit most of the time at work too, plus a went through a phase of dining out almost every weekend with my friends. Oh, and since my class times clashed with the time that my community college's cross country team practiced, I no longer could participate in the sport I loved and that kept me in good shape.

I didn't realize that I had gained about 20 pounds, until I was walking around campus and realized I could feel my belly jiggle. It made me feel like my belly was almost it's own entity (ok it didn't look that bad, but it felt weird for someone who had never had that problem before). I can count myself fairly lucky that I work in the day care at my local gym, so I started using my discounted membership and worked out every night after I worked (well Fridays were iffy, it IS Friday night). However, I STILL had difficulty losing the weight because I hadn't changed my diet and wasn't challenging myself in my workouts.

Late this August I decided to diet with my mom who is trying to get in shape because of a major blood clot in her leg that sent her to the hospital in October of last year. I stayed on it for a while, but it is too strict for me so I am turning to this site for inspiration and tips on how I can eat healthy and stay satisfied and track my exercise and food intake of course. Well, that is my life's story lol.

I started my diet at 135 pounds (I'm 5ft 4in) and recently regained some weight that I had lost and I am at 128. My first goal is 125 pounds and my second goal is 114 to 115 pounds. I also want to be between 19 and 21 percent body fat (I'm told that is a healthy range). I am currently at 28 percent body fat.
