Finding that runner's body within me.

I've never been skinny but I'm also not fat. I know that somewhere beneath these layers of fat is a runner's body that wants to be able to run like the wind.

My Goals:
I want to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year or get down to a size 8 from my current size 12. That's my ultimate goal but for now I'm taking it in a couple of stages. First my goal is to lose 20 pounds and get to 145 pounds and a solid size 10. After that I'll worry about the last 10 pounds.

My fitness goal is to get to a time of 1:30 for a half marathon. I recently finished one in 2:06 weighing 165 pounds. I figure if I can lose 30 or more pounds and train hard, I should be able to do that.

My Program:
My plan is to run 3 days a week and lift weights 3 days. So far that isn't really happening but I'm getting there. I may also need to add some cardio on the days that I do strength training but I'll have to see. I'm trying to keep my calories between 1500-1700 per day by eating whole grains, protein shakes, lean meats, fruits and vegetables. I've discovered that these are the foods that satisfy my hunger. If I eat sugars and simple carbohydrates I'm never satisfied and I just want more. Unfortunately, I can eat a lot if I let myself so it's a struggle everyday to keep myself from going overboard.
