Got to Run!

I've been running for about 4 or 5 years now, but not consistantly. I feel best when I run - I have more energy, and my clothes fit so much better! I am also very interested in healthy cooking, and constanly look for new, healthy recipes. Don't get me wrong, I love ice cream and other sweets, and it's a challenge to not over-eat.

My Goals:
I wasn't able to run the marathon that I had trained for because of a stress fracture. My goal is to try again, but train differently so I don't get another injury.

My Program:
I'm running 5 days a week, and cross train with yoga on the other two days. I also walk the dogs every day and just try to move a lot!

Other Information:
I'm not trying to lose any weight at this point, but I don't want to gain any! I'm not as concerned with the number on the scale as much as how my clothes fit. At the moment, they fit well!

I belonged to the south county Y for at least 10- 15 years (since they first opened!) but left about 5 years ago when I was still teaching and my mom got so sick she needed so much of my time and I wasn't getting in there very much. Then, after she died, I started having knee surgeries that I had postponed, and stayed at the PT's post rehab gym. The Y is too crowded and $$$ so I'm looking around.

Beets...Have you ever tried them on the GRILL? OMG are they GOOD that way! They take a while, but are definitely worth it!

Definitely consider doing the race. I guess I'd like to know by October. We have to signup and pay the race fee...and the sooner we pay the less expensive it is, BUT with 4-5 of us, it will be easier to swallow.

I think it would be fun to just "run" and see how far we can travel as a team in 6 hours
