Hey all!.., here''s my story :-) my name is Jessie and I''m 41 yrs old., have always been on the heavier side and don''t want to be like that anymore! My weight has been up and then down a few pounds., but now as I am just over 40 I won''t do it! I need for myself, my kids and my guy to be on the lighter healthier side and would love any and all help I can get! So here I am, trying to do it again., my highest weight was 248 and that was almost 20 yrs ago and I refuse to let my weight get out of hand, unfortunately though, my family is prone to being on the heavier side.s o I admit I need help. Diet pills and eating programs only do so much, its all in learning a new way to live and not having other ppl or companies prepare the meals for you. Am hoping to find a friend or 2 from my area to have as a workout buddy :) and we can motivate each other.

My Goals:
well here i am., this time in september 2005, i weighed in at 165 and then the stress came into my life and i added 20lbs.., then i moved home where there is absolutely nothing to do and lost all motivation to move and then i gained even more.., in the end, i have gained back a total of 75 lbs., bringing me back up to 238, losing a little here and a little there, but never being able to really keep it off. for health and peace of mind., i would like to go back down to that 165 or as close to it as i can., one step at a time. Here we are in 2010 and in august of next year, I have my 20 year high school reunion, my hope is that I will not only knock'em dead, but I'll surprise and please myself at the same time. I'm only 37,I've got plenty of living to do!!

My Program:
today., what i am doing to keep myself moving little by little is i am watching my intake a lot more than i used to- even though it can be hard esp when you go out to eat on occasion and things aren''t portioned- have joined a gym and am getting in there as often as possible and working my butt off each time I go. Keeping a close eye on junk food and trying to substitute it with either low fat cottage cheese or dried fuits (yumm) will keep all posted on my progress.., good luck to all!

    Hi Jessie,

    I saw your comment on a board and wanted to come say hi. We are in the "short girls" club, it seems. LOL I am only 5 foot, and started Sparkpeople at 208 lbs. From your page, I have a feeling you also suffer from low back pain, which is a major problem for me. So much so that I can't even work outside the home now. So, I wanted to say hi and give you some support! I wish you lots of luck, and I know if you stick with Sparkpeople, that you'll reach your goals!
