RUBYEAGLE134's SPARKLING JOURNEY

It's a wonder SparkPeople hasn't banned me from their web site as many times as I've joined & quit. Every time I quit, it was because I would let life get in the way or, this is the underlying reason, I would "mess up", feel like a failure & quit. However, 2011 was an eye opener for me. I went back to school full time as well as working full time. The course I took was hard & there were a lot of times I felt like quitting. I even failed some tests & wanted to quit then, too. I didn't ...
I didn't though. I gritted my teeth & reminded myself that tomorrow was another day. I also reminded myself of what the end could be ~ taking the big certification test & passing it (which I did) with perhaps a new job on the horizon. I learned I could do something hard & fail sometimes, & not quit. I could come through it with flying colors.

So I'm back again on January 1st stating "New Year, New Me" & expecting to make mistakes & fail once in a while, but to pick myself up the instant I fall (I'm going to be like one of those toys you used to see where you could punch them, they would hit the ground, then bounce back up again) & go on reminding myself of the expected outcome ~ a slimmer, stronger & healthier me, clothes that fit, being able to bend down & cut my toenails (I know, it's weird, but I'm slightly skewed any way). I'm thinking one of my rewards for reaching goal weight will be to go to a day spa & get the works, then get a professional photo taken.

Now for a request. I'm taking a page from Mr. & Mrs. NOTABOUTTHEFACE's pages ~ I love making new friends, but please don't friend me just to make points. If I inspire you, make you laugh, make you think, whatever & you want to be friends, wonderful!!!!!! Tell me the reason why because I might need some encouragement that day & your kind words will have made all the difference. If I make you my friend, it will be for the same reasons. Don't worry about returning the favor or waiting to see if I'm going to be for the long haul. That's OK; I understand.

My goal is to lose 100+ pounds this year starting today & ending on December 31, but if I'm halfway there or more than halfway, great!!!! I WILL GET THERE!!!!!!!

Thank you, in advance, for your support & for letting me be a part of SparkPeople once again!!!!

01/01/12 BMI - 55.6
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
01/01/13 ~ BMI - 55.1

I didn't reach the goal I set for myself last year. I let life get in the way again & went back to old eating habits. This time, I'm going to take it slow using the ChangeOne plan (you can find their books on amazon.com ~ they have 3 including one for diabetics), learning how to eat instinctively, listening to when my body tells me it's hungry & eating until I'm satisfied only. I'm hypothyroid as well as hypoglycemic, so this will be a bigger battle than usual. This is going to be one of the hardest things I have ever done, but it will come with the greatest of rewards!

Everything I said above & blogged about last year still holds true.

This is a journey with an end destination, but once I reach that destination, I will go beyond that destination to another goal.

To use a phrase that someone here on SP said adding a word of my own ~ God & I got this!

SIX is a singing group - no instruments used; however, they are so talented that they make the sound of the instruments & have the audience believing that they are hearing instruments being played. There is a mixture of singing with joking around that is so inviting. I enjoyed the fact that they sang songs from the different decades. It was just a delightful show from start to finish & it was very reasonably priced. The best part to me was that they were obviously Christians & gave God glory, as well as singing a Hymn at the end of their show. It was truly a worthwhile show.

The Branson Tourism Center site on the Internet has the following:

"Voted Entertainers of the Year in 2009, SIX delivers their brand of entertainment like no other musical group. You won't believe what comes out of their mouths! These SIX BROTHERS come from a family of 10 brothers. No sisters."

SIX (aka The Knudsen Brothers) have thrilled audiences from North America and from Europe to Asia. Rhythmic percussion, toe-tapping bass, and melodic vocals that intertwine seamlessly, are all produced live with the power of just SIX incredible voices.

Dubbed an orchestra-of-human-voices this award-winning tour de force captivates audiences with SIX's pure harmonies, astonishing vocal ranges, and singing so robust, you'll swear you hear a full band. Audiences are engaged the instant SIX hits the stage until the time they exit, and will enjoy experiencing something genuinely magical that defies description. Once you experience it, you will understand the power of SIX.

Meet the Stars at intermission and after the show!

God bless!

I see you live in Missouri - have you ever visited Branson? If you haven't & you do get there, be sure to get tickets to "SIX". I can assure you that you will enjoy the show.

God bless!

Wow... You might want to consider having your doggie spayed. She will likely have a much happier and longer life if you do...

You may need to spread the surgeries out then... Do the mommy cats first, and the female kittens. The male cats can be done last, since they don't have babies themselves... And if the females are already done, they won't be mating anyways... ( I am asuming you are watching over a colony of kitties? )

Do you have any rescue groups around you that could help you with the cost of the spay / nuetering? Some organizations offer help with the cost of doing it. I know that Second Chance Pet Network, here where I live, helps people through a spay/nueter program. Your local vet might know of an orgainzation that helps...
