New goals, new attitude!

I've been a SparkMember for years, and have been on a slow, slow roller coaster between 180 & 200 lbs. Lately, the scale & the inches are moving downward, and I'm trying to recommit to my own health.

I have a new goal - earn a Master's degree in Human Services & Counseling by the end of summer. While I'm working from home on that goal, I'm trying to focus on my health, too.

I have a new goal - earn a Master's degree in Human Services & Counseling by the end of summer. While I'm working from home on that goal, I'm trying to focus on my health, too.

Working on my health has taken on a new meaning this summer as I was diagnosed with bilateral DVT and bilateral pulmonary emboli - that's blood clots in both legs and both lungs - despite a lack of risk factors. Turns out I inherited a genetic mutation toward clotting that took 46 years to appear - pretty scary. Also found out that my thyroid is not functioning properly and that may be why it's been so difficult to lose weight. I'm learning all sorts of new health info!

Strength/toning 50 minutes 4x/week and walk/run interval sessions 3x/week.

I love animals, especially horses & cats. I cross stitch & crochet, as well as read & play sudoku. For fitness & fun, I like to hike, ride horses, do yoga, and bike ride.

As I look out my window I am seeing over 2 feet of snow. It is a bit overwhelming.
I see you were not overwhelmed this week because you are in the top five for team fitness minutes.

SOme advise I saw this week

Don't compare yourself with someone else's version of happy or thin. Accepting yourself burns the most calories.

This really rang true for me . WHen I am not happy with myself, I do not burn enough calories and I take in too many. So learn to love yourself more.
