I am a 72 year old roller skater who is currently listed as obese weighing 173. I met my husband at roller skating and we have been married 53 years. He use to roller skate but is currently unable to due to heart problems and knee problems. We use to skate competition but since he cannot I skate by myself. I intend to be 40 # less for next year's competition season and the journey has already started.

My interests include roller skating, camping, travel, sewing and gardening.

You are an inspiration, I look up to you!--I bow before your magnificence!

Will also hold you in prayer as you go for the knne surgery and praying god's tender mecy and healing for a good recovery, so you can keep showing us up!!!

Hooray for you! How wonderful that you still do what you love, despite adversity. It reminds me why I am here on this site - I want to still be doing the things I love when I'm 90. Good luck with your treatments and your skating. Lea

Hi ME,
I'm so glad you got back to skating again. It is hard to give up something you love so. You are an inspiration to us all.

I used to skate in high school and college and when the kids were small. I'd take them to the rink. I never was very good but had fun. I enjoy watching the ones that can do all the fancy turns. I think the inline skates look like a blast but tried on my grandsons. With his dad and dh holding me up, I soon decided that was not the way to go. LOL. I'm not into pain.

Keep on rolling those wheels..
