After my family's first ever trip to Walt Disney World, I was hit with the Disney bug (If you have it or know someone with it then you know what I am talking about.) I had wanted to go to Disney World my whole life! So needless to say there were more than a few tears when I first laid eyes on that castle. Oh yeah, its real, and right in front of me. My inner princess had finally got her day. So I was hooked on all things Disney.
While we were at Disney I noticed some people wearing runners medals (you know the kind that everyone gets for finishing a race.) Well out of curiosity I looked into it. Turns out a few days before we got there, they had a race through Animal Kingdom. I thought Wow how cool is that?! I instantly looked at what other kinds of races they had since my hubby is a runner. Well there it was, the Disney Princess Half Marathon!! A race right through Magic Kingdom. Not only through the park, but right through the castle! YES, through the castle with all the characters cheering you on! And Mickey and Minnie to congratulate you at the finish line with a medal. Not just any medal, a Disney medal fit for a princess!! Like a princess being crowned her tiara. All I could think is I want that experience! I want that tiara!!
So call me crazy, but this princess is going to get her a tiara!

Just wanted to say hello! My name is Stacey. I am a slow fat runner myself. I love it but it is a definite struggle. My biggest suggestion is to just go slow- like really slow! You can work on indurance first and speed later when it becomes easier. I have done two 5ks so far and have found that if I can run (jog) the whole thing I feel so accomplished -even if I finish last! I also am a huge Disney fan and could talk about that for days. Your goal of doing that princess race is awesome! My next trip there is in Sept and I am hoping to lose 20 lbs by then. Stop by my spark page and maybe we can cheer each other on! emoticon
