Half IronMan Here I Come! 2014

2014:

2013 didn't go as planned. I stayed active but gained weight. This year I will lose the weight I had gained (40lbs from my lowest in 2012). All while training to compete and finish my first Half IronMan.

Most of my blog will be about that challenges, and victories along the way.

2013:

This year I need to drop 30 lbs! I got to 5 lbs of my first target goal weight and then I went of vacation and partied for 6 month. Really why did I do that?

I have races and events lined up for 2013 that I'm excited about.
I have a new toy in my home gym!

My races are in the lower part of my page.

1/23/12 update:

This is my year to LIVE! I have been making grand progress in weight loss of the past 8 months. I am 5 lbs from no longer being 'over weight'. I am 20-30 lbs away from my goal weight. I AM NOW LIVING!

I have goals for this year, 3 1/2 marathons lined up. (GOAL MET 4 half marathons)
Learning to swim a mile (GOAL MET)
Swimming a mile in the ocean (GOAL MET)
Doing a Triathlon sprint (GOAL MET)
Hiking LOTs of HIKING (KNEE SAID NO)
50 mile bike ride (GOAL MET)

All while finishing up my weight loss goals. This is my year to live.

A Note to me from Coach Skinny B, on day's I need motivation!

"Yes the scale isn't moving but you ARE! You are moving better than you use to. You look good! People are noticing in a GOOD WAY! Even if you don't loose anymore weight look what you've done! Remember that 'before picture'? Do you want to look like that? THAT is what sitting on your bumm will get you back too. Keep working out, keep eating right and you will keep looking good and feeling good! And THAT IS WHAT THE NEW LIFE STILE IS ALL ABOUT!" {then she makes me do the hokey pokey on the precor}

How I got so big. Life happened. Two years ago my husband hand knee surgery and the recovery prossess demotivated me to do much physical excersie. Then I develeped a problem with my foot and a year ago had foot surgery. It was a long recovery and my foot still hurts but I'm learning to push thru it all.

A YEAR OFF A WEIGHT GAIN OF 40LB. :(

I have no excuse it just happend. I am right back to where I started 2.5 years ago. Only this time my health is being effective by it. If I don't turn things around soon it could be bad.

About the arm band...it took a swim when I didn't know it. It was thoroughly soaked and non-revivable.

I estimate that I burn between 1400-1600 just sitting around, which is exactly why 1500 or below seemed modest and safe. The only thing I can think of is that all of my activity helped get the metabolism going and therefore burns a little better than a baseline? Who knows. Or maybe healing from a surgery burns a lot of calories alone. HA HA! Just kidding!

And I know there are a lot of other factors involved that I can't control or don't know about to try to manage. (Hormones, etc.)

Oh well, I'm very curious to see what happens with a calorie increase. Notice I said curious, not stressed or worried. The only think I'm concerned about is regaining a bunch of this wonderful recent weight loss when I resume activity. I hope taking it slow and being careful will keep that from happening. It's easier to manage calorie when there is little exercise involved. Toss in exercise and reasoning and math seem to get toss aside. LOL!.

Thanks for stopping by! emoticon

Hey Roxit! Thanks for stopping by my blog to help me celebrate and thanks for the tips!

I have some upper body exercies to do and as soon as cleared by the doc, I'll be heading back to the gym to use that rope trainer and the arm ergometer... this may be as soon as Wed. AM!

As for the muscle loss - I checked that before surgery and it looks like the loss shouldn't be significant. And it shouldn't take too long to get back int "top form" (LOL!) after getting going again.

I wish I could put in an order to have the loss all from my calf muscles, but I think I'm stuck with them. HA HA!

Thanks so much for the support!
