I moved from Brisbane QLD to a beautiful location just north of Cairns almost 5 years ago. I battle with thyroid disease, an injury to my back and I am reminded yearly by the GP's that I will develop diabetes type 2, yep and as predicted, I have made it to the diabetic curse. It is my rod to bear for the rest of my life. So here I am, back again on this merry-go-round trying to lose some weight and get myself on track for a healthy future.

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for the lovely sparkpeople gift, and those wonderful words of wisdom. I am taking it slowly but am more active than I have been in months. Walking mainly but I am hoping to get back on my bike soon if this wind would die down.
The daughter and partner are coming here for Christmas and it will be the first time in 10yrs we have had Christmas together cannot wait.
I hope you are good and on the mend now. Give my regards to Geoff
Hugs Syl

Hi and thank-you for your concern, my back has it's own personality and I am sure of this some days. Some days it's really good and I get so much done and walk and work without too much discomfort. Other days it is like a tooth ache, it's there and nagging me to just stop and I find it a struggle just to push through the day. The pain effects my mood and I try to have my mask on so my work colleges do not show me sympathy, which I can do without. Some days I want to scream from the roof tops that I hurt, other days I want to sing my body loads of blessings. Some days are diamonds and some days are stone.....Thank-you emoticon
