Losing Weight Naturally

In an effort to stay healthy, I'm not depriving myself of what I like to eat. I am, however, more conscious of what goes down. I grew up as a Kool-Aid kid and was accustomed to having something sweet to drink with my meals. I have now stopped drinking soda and juices with my meals and replaced them with water. Mannnnnnn, I love sweets but eat fruit instead. When I want a snack, I'll eat cashews or peanuts. I'll also eat until I feel satisfied, not full. Every weekday morning when I wake, ...

I grew up as a Kool-Aid kid and was accustomed to having something sweet to drink with my meals. I have now stopped drinking soda and juices with my meals and replaced them with water. Mannnnnnn, I love sweets but eat fruit instead. When I want a snack, I'll eat cashews or peanuts. I'll also eat until I feel satisfied, not full. Every weekday morning when I wake, I do the Cupid Shuffle with a few Hip Hop Abs moves and one waist reducing exercise I learned from one of my brothers. Since January 2008, I've gone from the first belt loop and now I'm either too small for my old belts or I have to make more holes. I totally stopped drinking sweets with my meals in April, 2008 and lost 12 pounds. It is now March 2009 and I've lost a total of 30 lbs. I'm not sure how many inches have gone bye-bye but the inches came off before the weight started to drop so don't be discouraged if the scales say you're not losing weight but your clothes tell a different story. I stopped buying clothes until my weight plateaus as the clothes I bought last year are too big now (BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING LOL). I'm not one for the gym or routine exercising but my son and I walk the 1 1/2 miles around the block in my neighborhood in the spring and summer. In November 2008 I added running up and down the stairs as many times as I can until I'm tired to my exercise regimen and it looks like I'm toning up. Simple things like that can do a world of good--I'm living proof of that!

July 23, 2009 and 33 of my co-workers and I have embarked on a "Greatest Loser" Challenge from now until the end of the year. The person who loses the most weight will get the kitty. There are also monthly prizes for the person who loses the most weight. Now that I'm being weighed in weekly, perhaps I can overcome the hurdle of the plateau I haven't been enjoying since October 2008. I lost 2.5 lbs. since we've started . . . I'd like to do that or more each week. Wish us luck!

When you work out with a partner, the time spent seems more like fun than a work out. I have to give my sweetie props! 104 It's really GREAT when your significant other encourages and works out with you. This summer we rode our bikes at parks, through the neighborhood and at Riverwalk. Now that the weather won't be conducive for bike riding, we're still working out together and enlisted a the assistance of a few hand weights. I thank my darling baby for all of his pokes, prods and pushes in the right direction. With his help, I shall be out of this plateau by the end of the year!

Still working at it. Stopped eating fried foods two months ago and keeping a log of what I eat. Wii Fit is a wonderful tool and it's more like fun than working out. I'm trying to delete the bulge on my Wii avatar. LOLLLL

hey Rosie thanks for stopping by!!!

i read your status girl take the inches and keep it moving don't become dependent on that scale! the scale is not our friend!

if your losing inches that means your clothes are getting smaller and fat is is being burned and thats what matters!

what we should do is buy a body fat calibrater...it will tell us how much fluid were retaining and how much body fat we have...but the scale NOT FOR ME I DON'T FOOL WITH IT!

i lift weights so i know the scale is not my friend!

you need to get JUST DANCE it cost 29.99 or
DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION it cost 60 it comes with a mat just dance just uses the wii remote and honey when i tell you i work up a sweat its how i start my mornings now! i do 30 min and then i go to the gym!

don't let that negative spirit consume you..be grateful your losing inches and not gaining them!

inches lost turn into pounds lost which turns into smaller clothes and a healthier life!
