ROSEWCI is a SparkPeople Motivator!
Hi! My name is Rose & I've been Sparking for a while now! My weight was at 230 when I became serious about my health & well being. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2010 & was put on Metformin. I joined SparkPeople in an attempt to lose the weight & become healthier. My weight has fluctuated, but I'm around 165 now, thanks to SP & it's wonderful community! Currently, I'm not on any Diabetes medication & my HgA1C is 5.3! I exercise daily & am mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth! Hey, we CAN do this! One day at a time, we CAN!!!
Hello! Name is Rose! Struggling a bit these last few weeks & haven't been tracking like I know I must! Getting back to the basics is what's needed! I'm still down almost 25 pounds since I started w/WW's & I need to recommit, track my foods, & stay within caloric range! I'm exercising daily & plan to continue! My most recent love is spinning!!! Lovin' SparkPeople!!! Lovin' the community!!! Go fellow Sparkers!!!
Hi! Rose here! Since I've restarted my weight loss efforts, I've lost 29.2 lbs doing Weight Watchers! I track both on SparkPeople & I'm using the etools on WW's. Tracking has been the key for me...& I realize I will ALWAYS have to be mindful of what I put in my mouth! I exercise daily & plan to continue! I adore the SP community & the support of so many wonderful people! SparkPeople is awesome!
Hello! My name is Rose & I've been on SparkPeople for two years! I lost almost 70 pounds when I first joined. I've strayed for a while...& have gained a little over 30 lbs back. How? Not by not exercising, cause I do plenty! I stopped tracking! Yep! Simple as that! So, I'm back on track! SparkPeople works! The community is wonderful! Let the games begin!!!
-drink 8 glasses H2O
-5 or more fruits/vegs
-60+ min of exercise
-log on to SP!
Focus on one day at a time! Adhere to daily goals. Perform strength training & daily cardio at the Y! My cardio consists mainly of walking/running, biking, & exercise classes. I shoot for 60-90 mins of cardio MOST days! I LOVE LOVE LOVE spin class!!!
I get some ST in a BODY SCULPTING class & do lift free weights a couple of times a week at home or the gym! I've begun to enjoy Body Pump class twice a week!!!
I cook healthy & nutritious meals & try to avoid eating out as much as possible.
I relocated from NE Ohio to SW Florida in 2011 & I absolutely LOVE living in Florida! I'm a mother of 2 grown daughters, & have 3 grandchildren, ages 17 (twin boys) & a 13 y/o little girl. I'm also a surrogate Grandma to my youngest daughter's boyfriend's 2 sons, ages 18 & 13! They are my JOY!
I'm a retired RN.

Secrets of Success

The FitBit Charge arrived. It's up & running on the computer, but I can't seem to get it to sync to SparkPeople.
They don't give you much in the line of instructions. Everytime I hit the little button on the side, it just keeps moving what I assume is the clock forward. I'm not getting anything else.
I do NOT have a smart phone. I have the old flip phone so I have to sync to the computer. Aaaaargh!
I do have your FitBit info. I won't be home much tomorrow...going to the greenhouses with friends.

Thanks for the Spark Goodie with the sunshine! I wish you really could send me some as I really miss the AZ sunshine. This gray overcast skies give me a headache and is kind of depressing!

No, Rose, I have not seen that commercial yet. I'm sure when I do see it, I'll probably laugh so hard I'll be threatened with peeing myself.
And perhaps I can give Flo a few funny hints too!
Have a great day Rose!

Good morning, Rose! Set yourself up for success using SMART strategies. Create effective goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely. They will positively change your life. You will achieve results! Have a beautiful and blessed weekend.
S = SPECIFIC - What exactly do you want to achieve?
M = MEASURABLE - How will you know you have achieve it?
A = ATTAINABLE - Is it something that you have control over?
R = RELEVANT - Is it applicable to the goal and what you are working on right now?
T = TIMELY - What is your deadline for getting this goal done?
