The Primal Experiment

I am experimenting with the Primal lifestyle. As of Jan 27, 2013, 80% of my diet is grain-, legume-, and dairy-free as well as free of processed foods. I define processed foods as foods that contain ingredients that we could not hunt or gather.

My Goals:
First weight loss goal = to lose 26.6 lbs. Achieved April 13, 2013. Second weight loss goal = Total Weight Loss of 51.6 lbs.

To reduce or eliminate issues that are likely food related including migraines and symptoms of endometriosis.

Wade through all the science and psuedo-science to figure out what "healthy eating" really means.

My Program:
Consuming only carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables. Keep total carbohydrate consumption below 100g/day. Eliminate grains, legumes, and processed foods. Being less concerned with the amount of fat and calories I consume and more concerned with the sources of the fat and calories I consume.

Personal Information:
I love to cook, and I come from a family that loves to cook! As such, even as I strive to eat healthier, food will always be an important part of my life. I think the key to my success will be learning how to create recipes that are fun to cook, look beautiful, and contain healthy ingredients.

Darn, that sounded wonderful! ;) I imagine it would be so much harder to try to maintain a grain-free diet while feeding a house full of family...and if it's in the house, it's so hard to NOT eat it.

Hello,

actually its not...my parents were visiting for the last 3 months so dinner is a struggle for primal...and I end up eating some non -paleo stuff...I am trying to balance it between paleo and regular eating as I am the only one who follows this diet...
