Me Chilling at Silver Lake Sand Dunes June 2011
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
Picture the food pyramid.
With only three levels.
This is how I see what I am trying to do for me.
I call it "The Best Me I Can Be" Pyramid.
To Start. At the very top. Yup, that's right, the smallest section. (Not any less important than the rest, since without it...my pyramid is just a sad looking squashed square)....
EATING HEALTHY, because if I make it a larger level...it will become too easy to beat myself up for not doing it well all of the time. Yet without it, everything else won't matter quite as much
The Mid-section of my pyramid is...
EXERCISE. This one is big. It is not only good for my body, it is good for my mind. But again...it is not the base that will keep me steady.
The most important one to me, the one that will hold my pyramid together no matter what is thrown at it...
POSITIVITY. It is the main goal. To surround myself with positive people. To banish the negative. To find that silver lining in a situation. To not talk down to myself or others, for after all...we are ALL worth the time!
It's not easy. No sir! But that is why I have made it the ULTIMATE base. The number one thing to work on daily!
And of course, my pyramid is able to be tweaked. Perhaps I will add another level, or drop something down to share a level ... it's all in how I feel. So long as I keep those three basics in my daily routine...I know I am going in the right direction.
Not talk down about myself, whether to other people or just to myself. It is self demeaning and I am worth more than that!
Sure, I want to lose weight...tone...all that...but I think for now...while I am sticking to my exercise...I will work mostly on my mind, because I feel the rest will follow suite if I get my mind right!
Make exercise a full time thing in my life.
To be a positive influence on the people around me, no matter what they seem to think of me (I am okay with being that 'crazy' positive person...who knows...I just might make their day someday)
Gym, 5 days a week (unless something comes up and I just can't go...because, you know...life happens!)
I do Cardio (at least 10 minutes) on all 5 of those week days.
Strength training 3 days of the week. No set pattern. So if I didn't get enough sleep Sunday...that's cool...I can do it Tuesday then...so long as its 3 days in the week!
Weekends...now that we have hit warmer weather...those are days for me! That means mowing my yard, walking my dogs...whatever I want! No strict plan for those days!
I actually started Spark back in 2008, but I had slipped off the wagon...and started this page because I couldn't recall my username and password and had closed the email account it would be emailed to... it had been TO long!
I live in Greenville, MI (it's not as Podunk as it sounds, but it isn't a booming metropolis either)
Been married to my best friend (well, my best GUY friend) since 2000.
I am a 30+ year old, who frankly, has NO idea what she wants to do with her life.
Have 2 dogs, they are my Puppy Girls. Love them!
I am an archery instructor, an avid hunter and I enjoy shooting guns.
My husband was hit by a drunk driver in November 2009, and since then...our lives have been altered almost inside out at times. Things have changed, but we are working on getting stronger than before.
