15 months maintaining - and I have decided to step away from spark people. Whilst SP has taught me so much, I know it is time to get off the computer and start living my real life more fully.
I might check in from time to time - but certainly not every week.
Thanks for all my spark buddies - and everyone in the spark community who helped me get to this point.

Intuitive Eating
After tracking fairly religiously for almost 17 months, and maintaining for 11 months (Since Nov 16 2011) I have decided to stop tracking my food.
Tracking helped me learn so much - but I also forgot much. Forgot to trust my body to determine what it needs. Forgot that I know what a healthy diet is. I now know about portions and calories - so I feel well armed to try a freer approach to food.

& aim for 1200 exercise minutes per month

From now on, my goal is to shine.
Exercise and healthy eating has improved my energy levels, and the mild depression I suffered has quietened down. So there is nothing to hold me back!

    P.S. If you are struggling, please don’t disappear! Many scientific papers by the National Weight Control Registry consider it “successful maintenance” even if you keep only 10% of your original weight off. You might actually be successfully maintaining by this definition and not even realize it!

    Their data also say that successful maintainers usually report several attempts at loss and maintenance before finally getting it “right.” So the struggle is worth it - you CAN get better at this… We have a whole section with resources about that in the Big Page of Links titled, “When you stumble”: tinyurl.com/maintenance-links

    We all have setbacks. I know personally how painful that can be - in my 20s I lost 100+ lbs then gained it all back plus almost 100 more. You CAN recover lost ground, get it all back off again, and keep it off. It just takes sticking with the program and continuing to learn how to creatively maintain.

    So if you’re in that boat, please don’t give up like I did in my 20s and 30s - stick with it and let us on the team know how we can help - someone who helps you today might need YOUR help in the future!

    My recommendation would be to update your maintenance information for where you are currently at, now, and once you get back to your happy range, just update again with the new numbers. (You can always update, anytime. When I see a duplicate entry I delete all but the latest one.)

    It can be really inspirational for others to see that you’re still in the game and working at it, especially if you aren’t perfect. After all, who is???
