New Corporate Wear - 2006
My Corporate wear is getting too big. Major evidence of weight loss.
There comes a time in a persons life when one must take a step back, meditate on the past, consider the present and plan for the future.
Meditating on the past:
A year or even a month ago I found it too difficult to do what I am doing now. I lacked the motivation even though I was on SparkPeople where I got support, encouragement and read all those success stories wondering why can't this be my story. The discipline I required elluded me, it always seemed to far out of my reach. Exercise, a no brainer. Could never seem to find the time to include exercise in my all too busy schedule. Eating habits had gone through the roof. Lucky for me I had not gained the kind of weight that some people do when I see their stories on the tv, never been more than 250 lbs. Didn't like veggies, couldn't avoid foods like rice, pasta, cake, cookies and all the bad stuff. Been on roller coaster diets ever since I can remember. I JUST HAD TO DO ALL THE WRONG THINGS TO BE HAPPY.
Considering the present:
Recently being diagnosed with DM I got the shock of my life. All the things I could not do in the past instantly became so easy. I stopped sugar, drastically recuded carbs (haven't eaten rice in a whole month), eat veggies like am a rabbit according to my kids (don't mind them they eat like a rabbit too just to support me). Exercise fit so easily into my schedule that the day I do not exercise I am irritable. Can you believe that I wake in the morning cook lunch, prepare breakfast, go walking, get back home, have breakfast, ensure that the kids are all ready for school and we all get to school and work for 8 am. Something that I imagined that was so impossible is now so easy to do. I have so much more energy now. I NEVER KNEW LIFE COULD BE SO GOOD.
Planning for the future:
For starters I need to get a new wardrobe. My clothes are already fitting loose. SAVE SAVE SAVE, new wardrobe here I come. I need to spend more time out doors with the kids. They sometimes go walking with me and we have so much fun. Having a new lease on life I need to enjoy it. But most of all I need to continue even when the spirit is willing and the body is weak. I need to get to my goal weight. I don't care when or how long it takes me I just need to get there. I am well on my wayand it feels great. I have the greatest support ever, a loving husband, three beautiful kids and of course, my SparkFamily, Therefore it is FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER.
