Sustainable Change

I am the heaviest and most sedentary I have been in my life and pushing 44 y/o. My husband is in a similar spot. We are committed to making positive changes to a more healthy lifestyle. I tried SP sevearl years ago, but didn't stick with it (see below). I'm trying again. Any tips/advice for how to maximize SP for it's fullest potential are appreciated. I struggle with finding the time to plan and prep healthy meals and exercise. I seek to be healthy and fit as I go into my later forties.

My Goals:
I hope to lose approx. 70 pounds in the next year so I can be healthier as I enter my later 40s. I want to have more energy and be strong to keep up with my three kiddoes. I want to look nicer in my clothes and not hide from mirrors and cameras.

My Program:
Well, I'm starting by using SP! I will watch my caloric and fat intake and increase my activity/exercise. My plan is to exercise every morning and incorporate more activity bursts into my work day.

Hi, how's it going? I just wanted to stop in and remind you about the September challenge on the Independence Sparkers team. The deadline for signing up is August 31st, so don't miss out on the fun. The challenge is for cardio, so come by and do some cardio with us!

Hey, welcome to the Independence Sparkers team! I'm Marjorie, one of the team leaders. It looks like you're making a great start back at it -- you've got the benefit of knowing you CAN do it, because you've done it before!

If you're a walker, we do a lot of team walks which helps make the miles just whiz by. Just check out the posts on the boards, and come introduce yourself!

emoticon to the 40 somethings with 50-99 pounds to lose team. I am so glad you joined our team. Take your time familiarizing yourself with the site and visit the message boards for answers to your questions and loads of support. Remember to take small steps at first so that you can adjust to the changes you are making. Start by logging your food and looking for opportunities in your food log. Let me know if there is any way I can help you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.
