Test of Strength--Season of Healing

The journey to my healthiest life is now being traveled on a road to recovery, as I am healing from some injuries that have occurred to my body.

I am facing many challenges right now, but I face them with gratitude. I am thankful to be alive, I am thankful for my friends and loved ones who are getting me through this, and I am thankful for the Spark community to help me push forward and continue to do my best!

My Goals:
Short term:

1) Keep my stress down.

2) Get my house back in order...reducing clutter, cook more often, and keep it open and welcoming for friends and family members to visit.

2) Get more sleep--started heading for bed by 11:00 on weeknights.

3) Re-train at running.

4) Find a way to work in fruit and veggie juicing.

5) Earn a monthly award on Spark people for 1000 fitness minutes.

Long term goals:

1) Get back into a healthy weight range.

2) Continue to work on lowering my cholesterol and watching my blood pressure.



My Program:
The reality is that I don't have a lot of "me" time lately. So I take every opportunity that I find in each day to exercise....even if I don't get to burn as many calories as I would like, it's still something.

I still need to do a better job on staying in my calorie range, but I have come a long way in the last few years.

Other Information:
My name here is rockrunner404, which is modeled after an email address created during a time in my life when I was most active and fit. Even though spare time is hard to come by these days, I will always be a nerdy rock collector at heart and I will always love distance running to help keep me in shape. I have run many 5K and 10K races over the last several years, and so far I have completed two full (Pittsburgh) marathons in 2003 and 2010.
