The Vegetarian Hobby Farmer

I live on a farm in rural NH - I've been a vegetarian since I was 18 - I grew up on a farm and made friends with the future meals, which made me a bit conflicted about eating meat... so I stopped as soon as I was on my own! I love to garden, read, cook, build and fly model rockets, and tend my pets.

June 8, 2009 - Update
I finally reached 130 pounds on May 14th, and I've been hovering right there ever since. Now my new goal is to stick there! Since I've been following the Spark "diet," there's no problem - I'm just continuing the healthy nutrition and exercise habits I've learned on this site - they helped me reach my goal, and they seem to be helping me stay here, too!

August 30, 2010 - Another Update
Fell off the wagon! Between home renovation (don't ever do it if you dont have to! :) ), moving, and a minor (but painful) back injury, I'm back up to 150!! I'm climbing aboard again, but plan a more conservative, and maybe saner weight goal of 135... HOPEFULLY by my birthday in October, when I'll be hitting the big five-O! Hey, compared to a home renovation, a human renovation should be fun! :)

Thanks for your Thumbs-up on my status feed--I'm honoured you're reading it. I'm afraid my new plan isn't vegetarian, quite the opposite in fact, but it's working for me so please forgive me.
Hope you are feeling better now. Have you tried 1 tsp freshly grated ginger and honey to taste (if your plan allows) in a mug of hot water? It's great for colds and sore throats. Early to bed is a good idea too, sleep is the best medicine.
Why can't you have diet coke? I thought it's only 1 calorie.

Wtg! soda is hard to give up.. i didnt have the choice... I found out at 26 i was allergic to all corn products lol.. wow there went all that food and shampoos makeup etc...

Thank you! I made small copies of my goal outfit, laminated them and have (so far) taped them to my car dashboard, door frame at work, and carry one in my pocket. Hopefully it will be a motivator not to stress eat!
