I am a RETIRED high school administrator (retired with the Class of 2007!) I loved my job and the teenagers and teachers I worked with and I miss them all very much. Instead of sitting around, I am now operating a small convenience store/gas station (with a huge car wash attached!) My husband is learning to do the maintenance on the car wash and helps out a lot.

I'm excited about getting committed to exercising (all kinds!) and eating healthy. This has been a great site and I love all of my new friends who are willing to give me that little "kick in the butt" when I need it to stay focused.

My Goals:
Main goal: Get healthy.

Weight goal - I need to lose 30 lbs to get to my goal of 110 lbs.

Nutrition goal - eat healthy, adding more fruit and veggies to daily eating plan.

Fitness goal - exercise daily and really push myself to make the to make the exercise count.



My Program:
Here's the plan:

I will post in my blog at least 3 times a week to keep me up to date on tracking my progress.

I'll research more on nutrition and incorporate my findings into my daily life.

I'll check in on my Spark Teams daily to keep myself inspired.



Personal Information:
I grew up in Fenton, MO (20 min. southwest of St. Louis) and now live 50 miles West of St. Louis in St. Clair, MO. I am married to a great guy and have one awesome son (age 25). I love gardening (both vegetable and flowers), being outside, cross stitching, sewing, cooking (and collecting cookbooks!), and reading. Someday I'd like to walk/run a half-marathon.

    Hey, I just read your comment on my page. Yes, I'm following Jeff Galloways plan. He's such an inspiration. One of the great things about him is that highly encourages the run/walk/run method of training. (I don't do that b/c I'm stubborn), but its really nice for people that are starting out that are a li'l intimidated by running.
    Yes that's my daughter. I need to put a more recent picture. That's her 1st b-day, and we just celebrated her second.
    That picture was my turning point for my weight loss. When I saw that picture I was disgusted. I feel a lot better about the pictures this year(75lbs weight loss), so I'll post a new one.

    Thanks for the post on my homepage...I really appreciate when anyone takes the time to read it- I encourage you to write a blog each week- once you start you may get addicted to it though! I wasn't going to do the blog, but it actually is a wonderful way to get out some of your ideas and thought as you go through this process.

    Hi Sharon, Congrats on the long walk today. Sounds like you did really well. Keep it up. I too thought that I would walk this morning before church but ended up busy with other things and have just now walked in the 95 degree humid weather. Maybe I lost a little extra because of the heat.

    Congrats on your recent retirement. Good luck in the 6 week challenge.
