Howdy! I'm Robin! I finally decided I was done with excuses not to be healthy. I have over one hundred pounds to loose and plan to do it one pound at a time. I'm a single, with no kids, school teacher. Yep - the stereotypical old maid school marm. I love my work and my life except for health issues. My hope is that Spark People and I can work together to make a healthier me.

So sorry to hear of your loss! I will add you and your family to my prayer list. Sometimes the sadness just seems to pour down on us. When you are feeling your most vulnerable seems to be when tragedy hits. I pray you will find strength in this time. I pray you will find that special spark in you to rise above your feelings of loss and really live. Use this to remind yourself to never wait for tomorrow to do what you can do today.

am so sorry to hear of your families misfortune... don't beat yourself up... you will get back on track when you are mentally strong enough to do it. You already know what to do... realize that taking care of your body is not a luxury. You are not spoiling yourself by doing this... it is the same as breathing and bathing... don't feel bad about it. Will the situation change at all if you neglect yourself? Sometimes the gym... or wherever you go to exercise can be a great escape and a good chance to focus. Am wishing you all the best..

Robin, I'm so sorry you're going through such a hard time. Life can be cruel sometimes and we can lose our desire to care about ourselves anymore. I can only offer you this: a plea for you to nurture yourself right now.

Please sit down in a quiet moment, close your eyes, and feel the loving arms of all the people who care about you, including those of us on spark. We care about you and are sending prayers your way for healing. Give yourself permission to weep if you need to, and to know that you are cared for. Eating the right foods and exercising may seem inconsequential with everything else going on in your family, but when you take care of yourself, you're better able to take care of others - so it is really a selfless act to eat right and exercise.

It's hard but try not to beat yourself up. When thinks calm down and your ready you know where we all are. You lost weight before here and know that you can, so try not to sweat it. you'll know when your ready and we'll be right here waiting. emoticon
