I'm a work in progress;)

My biggest problem that I have with healthy eating/losing weight, is sticking to it! I need to find a way to maintain all of my hard work. So this year is my year to succeed, with the help of Sparkpeople!

My Goals:
*Drink 8 glasses of plain water per day
*Eat fresh fruits & veggies each day
*Walk 2 miles on treadmill or at the park 3 times per week
*Build endurance
*Be positive & patient, & don't give up





My Program:
Eat whole wheat/whole grains, fresh fruits & vegetables. Limit "white" starches. Mostly eat lean chicken, turkey, & fish. Limit red meats, and pork. Substitute fresh fruits for sugary desserts/sweets. Trying to avoid "all" fast food when possible, however I do like Subway. This will help decrease sodium intake for me. I want to cook more at home for me and my family. Only eat out on occasion. This way, my whole family will benefit. Exercise, exercise, exercise!

Personal Information:
I am happily married, have 4 beautiful children, & I live in Florida. I'm a Registered Nurse, and work in Psychiatry. I love Starbucks Coffee, and my favorite place to visit is Portland, Oregon. I like to travel.

Other Information:
I love to spend time with my family. I also like to go to church, go shopping with my mother in law, surf the internet, watch 'The Golden Girls', & 'Seinfeld', and I love watching cartoons with my children. I love my 2 chihuahua's too.

Some of my favorite 'eats': non-fat latte's/cappuccino's, veggie burgers, turkey taco soup, black beans, low-fat cheese, bagels w/whipped cream cheese, veggie omelets, and Fiber One Bars.

Thanks! I will be purchasing it ASAP. I also found 30 days worth of menus at the 500millionpound challenge that is online by the doctor that was also featured on Rachel Ray. Very simple and healthy food, but all planned out for me. :)

Yeah, let me know if you end up liking that Prevention book. I think I want it. My main stumbling block is meal planning... sigh.
