A fresh new start........

I am 38, mother of two. My daughter is going to be six in November and my son will be five in October. I have been married for 17years. My starting weight is 263.5, I am only 5'2, so that is a lot of weight to be carrying around on my frame. I am eating between 1200 & 1500 calories a day and slowly losing. I find it hard to exercise. Most of my time is spent on my kids or working. I get exercise walking with them at the park, but need to do more. My goal is to be able to ride my bike with my ...

My goal is to be able to ride my bike with my husband 50 mile and be able to keep up with him. I know I have a long hard road ahead of me, but for my kids and most important me. I need to lose my weight healthy. My weight is starting to affect my knees and keeping me from sleeping. So the time has come that I need to get serious and this time do it the right way .

Hi Rennei, Thank you so much for adding me as one of your friend's, I have just read your spark page and i know how you feel...I am 52 and i have been overweight all my life...joining sp was a turning point in my life I have only been a member for 5wks and already i feel a differant person.
Girl you WILL ride that bike with your hubby..but start slowly today we just got new bike's with full suspension..and that is only after 3 bike ride's that i decided if im going to do this im going to do it on a good bike lol..my first ride lasted all of 20 min's and i thought i was going to die, my 2nd was a 5 mile ride i had to stop every so often for 5 min's but i would get back on and go again..my 3rd ride was yesterday and i did 12 mile's again i had to stop quite a lot and that last mile was a real killer i did'nt think i was going to make it but i did. So what im saying is slowly little bit's and aim for a bit further each time you will soon be able to do that 50 mile do your kid's have bike's? why not go on a family ride just a little way taking your time. Have fun and enjoy your exercise together.......it's so nice to meet you, you take care now. Trisha xx

I'm sorry I haven't taken the time to email you before now. Hope you and your family are getting well. Its no fun to be sick.
Aunt Bee has made a list of the ladies on the mobility site for us with disablities and she has put a few of us together to have a more personal buddy to encourage along our journey.
I have not taken much time this beautiful morning to read your profile but if I recall you are working on lossing 100 pounds too. I just want to make sure I say hi and hope to see you around soon.
