My little girls are but a couple of things I have to look forward to in life.

Ready to head out for some laps in an open-wheeled race car during a racing school trip I'd won!

Power sledding! At the other end of the rope is a four-wheeled ATV being used as a tow vehicle.

Toning Up!

Originally I waded in because I knew I needed to start paying attention to my nutrition and general health. I was spending way too much time working, sitting in front of a computer, and not doing enough for myself.

I've now established fitness as a daily part of my life and continue to work on improving my nutrition. I've also made some other life changes and am now ensuring that I take at least a little time to do some things just for me.

I'm feel better physically everyday and know I'm getting stronger and more flexible. With Spring now set in, and Summer rapidly approaching, I'm looking for to getting out more and staying active with my family and in pursuit of my own interests.

Fitness Minutes: 20,393

My Goals:
- Log at least 750 cycling miles this year. DONE (October 10, 2011)

- Log 10,000 fitness minutes this year.

- Weigh 200 pounds by my 41st birthday in July. DONE (July 2, 2011)

- Maintain a weight of no more 205 pounds.

- Tone my aging body while becoming stronger and increasing flexibility.

My Program:
Nutritionally, I'm focusing on portion control and [mostly] staying away from the stacks of cookies, pastries, and similar treats that I do so love.

My cardio work is going to be primarily cycling now that that Spring has arrived. I'm currently riding a Trek 7200 hybrid bike (35 pounds) that wasn't ridden nearly enough over the last few years.

For strength training, I'm working my way though the Supreme 90Day program. I'm more interested in enjoyable workouts and toning than I am "getting ripped", but we'll see what happens.

SHUFFMAN126: Thanks! While we've lost about the same number of pounds at this point, I started with more pounds overall. So, you've lost a greater percentage of your starting body weight (11% to my 8%). Assuming we both reach our target weights though, we'll have each lost about 13% of our respective starting weights--and that's clearly something we can both be proud of!

Congrats pal, you've now lost more than me. And your planking pic on facebook is as cool as any of the Indy Car guys.
