ms. foxy lady
My name is Kelly and I am married to my love, Paul. We have a goofy corgi named Foxy Lady and a crazy feline we call Kitkat. They are very much our furdaughters and I couldn't imagine life without my silly lil' Italian/Hawaiian family. We just found out I'm hapai and hoping for happy and healthy.
I think I've found an eating style for myself that is healthful and I enjoy. I've done a lot of research, tried a large variety of diet styles, and came up with a diet that my body feels best on.
My diet usually consists of LOTS of fruits and vegetables, beans (black are my favorite), dairy (full fat), nuts, small amounts of meat, and occasionally grains (quinoa, brown rice, and rarely whole wheat). My diet is high in fat (90-100g/day), mostly from avocados, olive oil, and nuts, and low in protein (~40g/day), mostly red and some chicken and fish. Most of my carbs come from fruit. I now actually prefer eating healthy, but it took a couple years to train myself to enjoy healthful foods. I try not to limit myself, because that is the only time I crave disastrous foods. I used to be a diet pepsi addict, but it has been 2 months strong since I had any artificial sweetener and I think it might be for good.
I like to make my food from scratch to control exactly what goes into my body. This has also introduced me to cooking, which I found I love.
My favorite way to exercise is to do pilates with a balance ball. It's relaxing and can be entertaining trying to keep your balance on that ball. I always feel stronger and energized after a workout. I'm not sure why, but I never get bored with it and it ALWAYS kicks my butt!
I enjoy yoga, because it calms me down and relieves tension.
I also love soccer, but I rarely get a chance to play.
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, so my weight, among other things, has suffered. I am now focused on learning to live around my disease, healing my body, and becoming healthy, active, and energetic again.
- get more fiber
- eat the foods I enjoy
- eat them as natural as possible
- incorporate pilates, yoga, cardio
- don't limit myself
- no more diet soda!
