Mom of 2 great kids(number one motivation) and wife who's looking to lose a few, to feel better and look better. 43 years old. Have been trying on my own for a long time, so I'm happy to find Sprakpeople to keep me on track. Ontario, Canada born but have been living in turkey for the last 5 years.
My Life's Work in Progress........
I what to be able to do the things I used to do, like running and jumping rope, and riding a roller coaster with my kids, I want to get all dressed up and not think that I look fat and ugly. I want to feel more energy, and not have to stop every two min. to rest. I want to clean my house like it should be cleaned in one day not over 2 or 3 days.
When and How?
What do I want...... I want to lose at least 100 lbs for starters, When.... I want to lose it by the summer of 2011 (but that's not writen in stone.). How: I'm going to keep track of my food choices, make better choices, NO more junk, eating heathy and excrsies. Trouble areas have to be the food choices staying away from white bread and flour, and sweets. and being aware how much I'm eating.
Have a plan:
Vacationing and being away from home, is a problem area for me, the brain thinks its on vacation also, keeping in cheek again when I'm not home is a challenge for me. the plan is to be always on guard, even if the brain is not cooperating.
I have many things I will reward myself with when I reach certain goals from small little pleasures like taking my kids on a roller coaster ride (actually that's a biggie for me) to going out and buying a new outfit, I think all my rewards no matter how small or big will be great!

I haven't kept up with this even though I'm still losing it's on a slower scale. But never the less still lossing. :)

get more energy,
Lose the high blood pressure,
fit in to "normal" clothes.
1200 to 1400 cal a day
30 to 60 min. walking every day.
Do cardio 3 times a week,
staying motivated and in control of my diet.
and drink lots and lots of water.
I'm a descendants of Italian parents born and raised in Toronto, (area)Canada, Happily married to the Love of my Life. with two Beautiful children. We are living in Turkey for the past 4 years and loving it. But get back to see my family and friends as much as I can. Witch also keeps me motivated.

I'm moving to Türkiye next year in September. I've never been abroad, so it's going to be a thrill for me. I hope to stay no less then one year, I'm learning what Türkçe I can now using Rosetta Stone.

Merhaba Rita! Oh I wish I was living in Turkiye, I've only visited. I hope to teach there in maybe a year or two. Not gonna lie as a liberal Sufi girl I'd like to marry a good hearted man like some of the other ladies of the group but I am not holding my breath! Keep me posted on everything :)
