Journeying back to confidence!


My wedding has come (and was amazing and I felt happy and beautiful) and gone. Now, 9 months later, I have put all of the weight I lost back on, and am determined to get back to where I felt truly confident about myself, healthy, and beautiful.

I'm tired of my weight affecting my mood, consuming my thoughts, making me feel like I'm not as good as I can be, affecting my energy (in all areas...), and making me feel like a failure, not to mention meaning that I have a ...

My Goals:
1. Lose 10 pounds by March 1st.

2. Lose 57 pounds total by September.

3. Make healthy lifestyle changes one day at a time

4. Maintain weight loss...no more yo-yo'ing!

My Program:
I am following the South Beach Diet, which emphasizes lean protein, good carbs (whole grains), fruits, and lots of veggies.

I am also drinking as much water as possible and sticking to 1-2 caffeinated drinks/day.

I am exercising regularly, usually 4x/week cardio and strength. Cardio is either long walks with my dog, a dance aerobic DVD, or some variety of the Biggest Loser workout DVDs

Personal Information:
I am a married 25 y/o female, currently living in the Caribbean (always swimsuit weather..eek) with my husband where he is in veterinary school.

I'm a self-confessed yo-yo dieter and have been (unfortunately) for the past 8 years almost.

Other Information:
"Direction is more important than speed. We are so busy looking at our speedometers that we forget the milestone."

Iíve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, itís a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!!

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success!
