Hey, thanks for the comment on my blog, I really appreciate it! And as for information about raw food and my reasons for doing it and whatnot, it's for weight loss, but also for health and detox. With raw foods the first thing your body does is clear out your colon, which sounds gross (and it kind of is), but it's really essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption, which can be hindered if there are years of feces built up in your intestine, especially if you have constipation. So after everything's cleared your body's level of vital nutrients goes shooting skywards and you get a ton of energy, your body starts shedding pounds, your skin clears up, you sleep better, and a hoard of other extremely helpful things. I'm personally not following anything, just my body. When I'm hungry I eat something raw, and plan one meal a day that's cooked, and like I said in my blog post, I've been eating 1600 to 1900 calories a day and the weight's just melting off it seems. Actually the first day I was really hungry so I ended up eating like 2500 calories because I was snacking on so many raw foods but I still lost 3 pounds! I definitely recommend starting off without going 100% raw, just because for me personally it makes me crave cooked food to the point I end up falling off the raw food wagon, so just having that one cooked meal for warmth and comfort is really helpful for me, even though it's just been vegetable soup and steamed veggies each day, it's unbelievably satisfying. I mean, if you want to go 100% raw, go for it, that's just my advice. Lol. I'm personally working up to it, and plan to do this high raw food thing for about a month and then do an additional month of going completely raw and then I'll take it from there. :) If you have any more questions feel free to ask me!
