3/3/12 - update:
It has been 2 years since I changed this, apparently. I guess that means that now would be a good time. :)
Nothing in my family profile has changed. I would like to say that my mental status is the only thing that is different. The body is still under way. I am getting better about not looking at the scale and deciding my value. I am now paying $20 per visit and doing that at the doctor's office. This is better though, as the body composition profile that I get done shows me soooo much more than my scale - body fat percentage, fat distribution, water weight, etc. I like it...okay, I'm addicted. I really need to update my goals though. I need to be more specific and set up some deadlines.
3/11/10 - update:
Well, I am still Riqui. I still have three boys (Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing 3) and I still live in upstate New York. Other than that, since the fall of last year, every other aspect of my life has changed. In some ways, for the better, and in many ways, not. I spent the last two months of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 struggling with depression and let everything that I had worked for go. I gained about 20 pounds and am back to the starting line. This time, though, I am armed with much more ammunition, knowing more about myself, my body and what I need to do.
I WILL BE running my first 5k in May, currently working on the C25K program. That is my primary goal at this point. Well, that and getting some definition back in my arms! :)
* * * * *
My name is Riqui and I live in upstate New York. I have three boys (aged 14, 9 and 4 years) that I home school and I do daycare.
I have been using this site for months now and have managed to learn more here than I have before. I really appreciate all of the knowledge and the support/motivation that is shared here! Now I just need to quit messing around and actually put it all to work in a serious manner!! :-)
I found this sight through a series of wild clickings and link chasing and am glad that I did. I hope to be able to use it to meet new people, meet new challenges and meet my goals!
I am currently at 24.2% body fat. My ULTIMATE goal would, probably, be to reach about 18%, although I am just shooting for 20% right now. When I get there, I will see how I feel. Right now, I set my goals up on a monthly basis. 22.5% is my current goal, and I don't go back until 4/30, so...I will give it my best each day and just keep trying to get better.
I am currently working with the Insanity program as my "staple." I intend to finish it this time, as I only made it through week 3 before I got bored last time. I am also working Crossfit WODs in 3-4x per week. I try to keep my calories around 1500 per day, with my macros set at 45/40/15, as my BMR is about 1400. 10-14 cups of water per day.

Hey, what's up?
Give me shout, a sign, anything... Just want to make sure you are not dormant!

Hey, thanks for stopping by! I haven't written much lately because I feel a little grumpy, frustrated, depressed and down (yeah, all that and more!) with my 'real' life, and when it happens I usually stay by myself, and don't talk much online or offline.
How was your weekend? Seems like yoga was on your program... twice!
What about the food department? Have you been able to stick to your menus?
I made so bad choices last week... and even baked two cakes yesterday evening... had too many kiwis and didn't want them to be spoilt... (I know smoothies would have been a better option! lol)
Really like my Polar. It helps me a lot to manage my faintings while exercising. Went cx skiing yesterday afternoon, even if it was only for a short lap, I am glad I did it. Not sure Polar is very accurate regarding the number of calorie burnt; I feel it is still too much. Anyway, it is just an estimate.
Did I tell you I saw an endocrinologist in Switzerland?
Though I won't be refunded in France, he's worth his money! The best one I've ever seen who gave me a real check-up, and asked for an exhaustive blood tests and urinalysis.
I should get the results by Wednesday, and know if his suspicions are correct.
My father is coming tomorrow. We should go snowshoeing if the weather permits it.
Then, next week I'll be in the suburbs of Paris at my father's (golf is on the menu), and before coming back to my mountains, I'll be spending the weekend at my brother's in Paris (I hate this city ! lol)
In the meantime, the renovation of our ground floor is scheduled, and we are clearing up the rooms (actually I am + someone I had to hire! That could explain my grumpiness ). There is no electricity, no water in this part of the house... a spiders heaven!
Wish you a great week! Any plans for the week?

Oh, and I got my Polar! It's a FT40. I'm going to try it when snow shoeing today.

You do like trying weird stuff, don't you? I don't think I've ever eaten kumquats!
How does it taste?
My uncle finished 1st in his category last week, and today he has a 40km cx skiing race scheduled. My aunt and I will be leaving in 10 min or so with our snow shoes. Yep, he never stops!
Hope you had a great week as you planned it! I have been down all week, and I'm trying to push myself today, but I'd rather stay in bed.
Keep on track and keep on trying new stuff!
