Trying to Maintain...and lose a few more!

WELL, I'm Back on Spark for the 1000th time ;) I'm ready to gradually change my eating and see where it gets me. I don't want to dive in head first b/c it seems that doesn't turn out so well for me so..let's see how things go!

In April 2008, I made the decision to get rid of the excess weight. I actually did pretty well and lost a little under 50 pounds!! Kept it off for awhile but in July 2009 I started my new job (in an office setting) and the weight poured on. Now, Dec 2010, ...

In April 2008, I made the decision to get rid of the excess weight. I actually did pretty well and lost a little under 50 pounds!! Kept it off for awhile but in July 2009 I started my new job (in an office setting) and the weight poured on. Now, Dec 2010, I'm working as a full time Real Estate agent and my weight has pretty much stayed the same since I started my business two months ago, but I still desire to get down to a single digit dress size. Being on spark has been the key to my weight loss (it's been proven to help reduce weight). I've done it before, I will do it again! Hope to talk to everyone soon!

Oh, I've left some of my old posts up so you can see where I've come from...it's kind of like a diary for me.

(my very first intro)
Hello, I've finally made up my mind to lose the weight...I basically got fed up. For the past three weeks (4/7/08), I've STOPPED eating past 9pm, which was a huge drawback for me, I've started working out at a nearby gym (treadmill 1 hour, 3.5-4.0 speed, 7.0 incline) I just started lifting weights today 5/1. I've also cut back quite a bit on un-needed calories. I've incorporated more fruits and salads, cut down to 2 eggs instead of 4!!! I try to burn an average of 400 calories at the gym and have estimated that I've cut down 300-500 in my food intake. My aim is to take baby steps...I don't want to do too much too soon and sabotage my progress. So far I've had so many compliments about how I'm starting to slim down. The encouragement keeps me going. I would love to meet people who are also on this weight loss journey.

UPDATE*****5/19/08 I'm now burning 600-700+ calories during my workout-Now that I'm using my heart rate monitor. I'm able to push myself and stay in my target heart range.

Update******* 5/30/08 Today I will be starting the Couch to 5K (C25K)
I hope to be able to finish the program by the end of July. I'll be doing the run/walk plan every other day. I'll still be doing some cardio on the elliptical and a small amt of strength training on in between days.

Update*****6/5/08 I realized that my weight loss has slowed and I'm just about at the 2 month mark with my new life, so I think I need to change things a bit. I just finished Week 1 of the Couch to 5K program, so next week will be a bit of a boost in my program. I've also started with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred program (day 4) I expect a great amount of inches and weight lost over the next 2-3 months using this DVD.

Update*****6/22/08 I just have to update...I can't wait til my weigh in in two weeks. I have lost a total of 5 pounds in the past two weeks. That is the most weight I've lost in a two week period. I had been averaging about a pound a week, but I've managed to double that (finally) I still have two weeks until my weigh in. I wanted to be 170 by then, but I feel that I'll be able to surpass that goal. YAY!!!! Current Weight: 172 , now wearing a size 10...YAY!!!

Update*****7/13/08 I decided to change my goal weight from 150 to 145 (on the ticker). That puts me at 23 more pounds to lose. I actually anticipate getting to that weight atleast by end of Oct, early Nov although I have December as the last goal installment. Depending on my body fat percentage at 145, I may go down to 130. I HOPE I don't have to, but I'm willing to do it to get and maintain my best body ever.

Goals: Hopefully my goal doesn't take this long, but I expect to lose AT LEAST 5 pounds a month.
SW: 200, managed to lose 10 pounds end of last yr (w/out trying)
SP Start Weight: 190 (size 14-16)
05/7/08-185lbs-5 pounds lost, lost another 4 pounds on 5/10/08..YIPPEE!!! Now...181 pounds(size 12)
06/7/08-175lbs- Goal Not Met. 6/18/08, finally 175!!!!
07/7/08-170lbs- Goal met early 7/4/08 (size 10)
08/8/08-165lbs-Goal met early 7/17/08 (size 10, some 8's)
09/8/08-160lbs-Goal met early-mid august, 159 lbs (size 10, a lot more 8's)
10/8/08-155lbs
11/8/08150lbs
12/8/08-145lbs-HAVEN'T MET YET, BUT I WILL!!!!

Update******7/23/08-HOORAY HOORAY..I'M DONE GIRL OF THE DAY!!! I never imagined I would be the DONE GIRL. This week has been truely crazy. I passed out on Monday, I'm DONE GIRL OF THE DAY on Wednesday. I'm curious about what's gonna happen on Friday. Thanks to all the lovely DONE girls who have stopped by and encouraged me. Thanks to my special sunshine in Kansas who I just adore. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I have over 40 pages of CONGRATS, so I am doing my best to respond to everyone. Thanks again. Let's keep meltin' that fat like butta.

Update*******10/6/08
I'm a SPARKPEOPLE MOTIVATOR....YIPPEE!!!! I never would have guessed this would happen. It's soo funny to be voted as someone that is postive when I have met so many people on SP who are that to me. I LOVE SP!!!!

Update*******11/20/08
Well, I've kind of fallen of the healthy living bandwagon, BUT I'm slowly getting back on. I'm easing my way back into exercise by doing 20 mins a day and 20 mins of weight training every other day, hopefully by next month I'm back to 45 mins at least 4-5 days a week. With my eating, it's been an uphill battle. Some days I'm to the T and then some days it's...what diet are you on! I'm completely at a standstill, but I know I'll be moving forward soon. I'm actually doing the rowing machine at the gym (I've never tried it b4) It's great for my body, something new and leaves me aching for a few days. I'm only doing 10 mins of that until I can build up my endurance. Next week I'll aim for 12-15 mins. I've really been working my arms, abs and back b/c they are serious problem areas and I'm seeing some great definition in my arms. As for SP, I'm not on here everyday like I should be, but that's also something that I'm working on. All we can do is KEEP ON MELTIN' THAT FAT LIKE BUTTA. Catch up with you soon.

Update****12/20/08-A NEW YEAR IS COMING!!!!
I'm ready for a new year. This year has been wonderful mixed with some awful, but God has provided so I really can't complain. For the past 2 months I've been struggling to get the last 20 pounds off. I haven't lost a pound, but I haven't gained either, soooo something else I really can't complain about. I think I'm just gonna give the scale a break just for a while and just concentrate on my fitness. I've SLACKED on my workouts and I have felt it physically. I'm always tired, which is a change from my vibrant self the past few months. I've also become best buddies with the drive through, but I have a plan for that. So....my January GOYAAM goals are as follows:
*MAKE FITNESS FUN 4 ME!!!-So important right now
*Leave fast food alone w/ the exception of Subway (limit of once a week)
***go back to NOT eating after 9pm
***re-start C25K( 3 times a wk)-never completed it!
***track my calories on SP
***use Wii Fit and My Fitness Coach everyday (that won't be hard)
I'M AIMING FOR 1 POUND A WEEK, BUT I'M HOPING FOR 2. HERE WE GO...ROUND 2!!!

1/29/2009-It's officially 2009 and according to my orignal goals I would have been 145 lbs, but thats ok b/c I'm going to get there. Today I signed up with Weight Watchers. I need the direction and change. I have been really lazy with my food plan and have turned to fast food, which in turn added 10 lbs to my frame (YUCK), so I'm determined to get down to 130 by this summer. I know I can do it!!! I'm confident...Here we go....FOR REAL!!!

3/23/09 Here I am again, beginning again. I'm still trying to reach my summer goal of getting down to 130. I'm hopeful and I know it's gonna take hard work to even get close. My goals are to get to 1 mile on the treadmill everyday as fast as I can and to stay under or right on my fat grams. Also, at least 15 mins everyday on my wii fitness coach and possibly start up the 30 day shred again. I've also cut out a lot of meat in my diet. Plenty of healthy grains, fruits and veggies, dairy and very little if any meat.

6/24/09 Well, I've gained 20 pounds and steady gaining...I'm trying to get myself back under control but it proves to be very challenging. I don't want to get back to where I was but if I don't do something fast, I will. Keep me in prayer...tryna stay in the race.

10/16/09 Well I'm back and back at my starting weight. After getting a new full time job (desk job) the weight poured back on. So, here I am again now that I'm adjusted, to get my body back!!! I'm going to jumpstart with the Atkins program. Hopefully I can get the carb obsession under control that really is my down fall. I'm also back at the gym 2x a week and workout at home. I'm thinking of doing power 90, but I'm soooo outta shape from not working out for months. I think I'll just get back to my Jillian DVD. I may incorporate P90 later. Well, Here I go....Round 30!!!

The Virgo girl is born to a mother who isn't happy with the money the father makes, so the child grows up in a family with a critical parent, so she learns to be critical especially of herself. The father is a good man but rather passive so the shy little Virgo child goes inward for quiet as she doesn't like over-stimulation. She learns to be frugal as money has always been a worry in the home. She doesn't want to be criticized so she works hard to always be ready so she isn't found unprepared. This leads to a lot of stress for the Highly Sensitive Person. Virgo needs alone time and rest. Virgo works well behind the scene helping others look good
Virgo gets along with Pisces, Cancer, Capricorn, taurus and Scorpio, but when a relationship goes bad she will walk out and not look back as she is very capable of living on her own. She often finds a man who is the "bad boy" so she can try to improve or change him, but that doesn't work since he finds her a "nag". She is better off staying with intellectual men who want to be a success and finding one she can help get to the top.
Weight can be an issue for her as she can turn to sweets for comfort, but her sign rules the Sixth House of Health, so she makes a good nurse caring for others. She LOVES to show others the right way to live, so she can be a health coach.
The symbol for Virgo is the Virgin, denoting the puritanical demeanor usually common to those of this sign.
In Virgo the Sun is orderly and thoughtful. With the Sun in Virgo you are predisposed to be hardworking, conscientious, and well-organized. Modest, discriminating and thorough, everything you do, you do well. Practical and down to earth, you are a diligent worker with a competent, discriminating intellect. You are highly analytical and exacting, especially adapted to handling projects with painstaking perfection. Thus, you are fond of good workmanship and the utmost in quality. You are dependable because your approach is always one based on common sense and a realistic and analytical assessment of the problem.
You give much attention to detail, but you can carry this to extremes, becoming fussy and critical, sometimes interfering. Large-scale projects can overwhelm you because of your insistence on perfection. Unless you can deliver such quality, you may become frustrated and discouraged. There is always the tendency and danger with Virgo that the big picture idea will be missed in search of minute details. You expect yourself and everyone around you to be perfect, often setting yourself up for disappointment. Your outlook is too negative and picky sometimes.

Modest and unassuming, you are usually content to live in the background. Your attitude, at times, can become puritanical and prudish. You consider yourself an ordinary person, and you are never given to any airs of pretentiousness or showing off. There may be a tendency for you to see your role as one of service and "behind the scenes" support activity.

You have a serious attitude toward refining your mind and acquiring knowledge. With your highly varied interests, you can gain a remarkable amount of data about different subjects. You instinctively know that you must grasp all parts before you can fully understand the whole. Systematizing and detail organization are your strengths. You are idealistic, but always practical and reasonable. You're not likely to make general statements based on too few facts.
You may be somewhat health conscious, for you have an instinctive sense of balance in diet. You're very sensible in taking care of your health, and for that matter, the health of others. Often, the Virgo becomes exceptionally neat and orderly, even a bit neurotic about cleanliness. You're likely to be susceptible to stress related problems because you do tend to worry too much.
