Trying To Get Over The Next Mountain

Hi
My name is Riki, I am 61 years old. A wife of 41 years, a mom of two children and a grandma of 6 grands. I have worked in the nursing areas most of my life, starting when I was 18. I am now retired. I attend a wonderful baptist church called Blythefield Hills. I am fairly active in church, however my husband is on staff and since we live 18 miles from our church, I try to stay somewhat loose because of two cars going all the time.

My mom and dad are both gone on to heaven. Mom had alzheimers disease and my dad, kidney failure with heart problems. They meant everything to me!
I have struggled with weight most of my life, my higest wt. being 175lbs. My hubby had a heart attack almost two years ago in May of 2006. Our lives changed radically and we began watching our saturated , and trans fats closely. At the same time realizing God did not want us to heavy. We have been on the heart diet every since the attack, and I lost 20 lbs., however my weight is creeping back and I feel like I have lost my "footing on the mountain". I am finding it very hard to get back on track. I have high blood pressure problems myself and need to take care of myself more.
So, I am trying hard to "get over the mountain"! I am looking forward to being on SP and getting the help I need and also to be a blessing and help to others. I feel like the little red train that said I think I can, I think I can!! I do not want to fail again.
Thank God! that I know that he cares for me, and wants me in good health. And He can help me do it, so my words are.....I know we can, I know we can.!
My verse below, is what I take with me always. I am so grateful that I know he is God, therefore I can trust him. That is what I need to learn. RIKI

" Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10

Bear with me as I struggle to learn how to navigate here.

Hi Riki, It looks like you are really doing good and will reach your goal in a few weeks or sooner. I am losing but have slowed down and I heard about SparkPeople. I want to lose another 14 pounds and then I will be happy with that. That will put me at 140 lbs. Already my back feels better. Carrying all that excess weight does affect us in many ways. Thanks for sharing.
