Suiting Up For the Long Road Back To Myself
{Update: 7/16/12} Back on track for the past two months now and LOVING the journey so far! I'm exercising regularly and eating so much more mindfully. {Update: 7/16/12} Back on track for the past two months now and LOVING the journey so far! I'm exercising regularly and eating so much more mindfully. I have a long way to go, but I'm feeling so positive and motivated. I can't believe I waited this long to start taking care of myself...but I'm freakin' glad I finally took those first steps! I'm a social worker in health care and live in NY with my husband and three cats. 2012 has been a rocky-ish year personally, but I'm feeling confident and strong enough to know I can handle whatever life dishes out to me. I firmly believe that making my health and wellness a priority is giving me the perspective I've needed to thrive and find joy in all I do. Spark People is a blessing and I look forward to making friends and sharing inspiration and encouragement. **** I need to get back into a regular exercise and fitness lifestyle. I know firsthand the benefits of exercise and how it can aid in weight loss as I was able to drop almost 50 lbs ten years ago mainly though exercising. Unfortunately I got out of the routine and this time around, I need to lose about 100 lbs. I'm an energetic and creative person and need to make this FUN in order to reach my goals and maintain a healthier life!

My Goals:

Be more accountable to myself & others. 6. Get enough sleep each night. 7. Experiment with healthier cooking. 8. Rediscover my creative, whimsical self.
My Program:
1. Drink b/t 48-64 oz of H20 daily. 2. Take stairs at work. 3. 90 mins of exercise/week. 4. Devote 2-3 days/week to strength training. 5. Cardio at least 30 mins, 4-5 days/week. 6. Write/journal 1x per week. 7. Eat something healthy (fruit, veg, or protein-rich snack) every few hours during the day.
