Wanna lose the big butt!

I've been a member of Spark People for quite a while now. While I learned a lot every time I logged in, it really wasn't working for me. Actually, I wasn't working it for me--as much as I got a lot of good information and inspiration, I wasn't taking it to heart and putting in the work to create a healthier life for myself.

I believe I've finally hit a turning point, and I'm hoping that I can find some fellow Sparkers to help me keep the momentum going. I joined a gym a month ...

I believe I've finally hit a turning point, and I'm hoping that I can find some fellow Sparkers to help me keep the momentum going. I joined a gym a month ago, and have been very consistent about going 3-5 times each week. I find that going to the gym and getting some exercise helps me to make healthier food choices, and I'm already seeing and feeling results. I've lost 10 pounds, have more energy and a more positive outlook.

My Goals:
I have 2 teenage boys who play football. Last season, I was the only mom who couldn't wear a jersey with her son's name and number on the back. I chose my ticker to inspire me to lose the weight before the next season starts, so that I can show my boys how proud I am.
UPDATE 2/2011: I did get to wear a jersey last season but it was an XXL. My goal is to reorder in a smaller size for the 2011 season.

My Program:
1) Work out with weights at least 3 times per week, preferaby 5.
2) Do some form of cardio (treadmill, stairclimber, walking my dog) 5 times per week.
3) Eat to fuel my workouts, not to feed my soul.

Personal Information:
I'm a Texas football mom--nuff said:)

Other Information:
I will read anything I can get my hands on!

Exercise equipment in the home can easily become a coat rack o dust collector. That's why mine is right out in the living room facing the tv so even if there's a group of us watchin tv I can exercise as I watch. And as a bonus when kids are around they see me using it and then they pick up on my healthy choices(at least I hope so). You could always try a gazelle, it folds up when you aren't using it and can be stored behind a couch, in a closet, or spare room.
