The Rhode Hazard

I am a not-so athletic person who enjoys individual (non-team) sports, such as hiking, biking, walking, running, etc. I am trying to take back off the weight I had gained during a multi-year long project at work when I didn't have the time or energy to exercise.

My favorite forms of exercise are "single-person sports" such as walking, running/jogging, biking, and snowshoeing.

My favorite race distance is the half marathon, and I try to done every month. I like it ...

I like it because I can do a challenging race where I can try to better myself each time, yet not lose my entire weekend. I try to do halfs within driving distance, and often go in the morning and come back the same day, with no problems at work on Monday. Woo!

My Goals:
Re-lose the weight I gained back during some rather stressful months at work and home, and finish down to my goal weight

My Program:
Weights- 3 days a week

Walking 3-4 miles every morning, depending upon my training schedule and tapering for races

Gym-- treadmill, weights, elliptical, bike

Hi!

I just stumbled across your page...WOW - you have seriously done a LOT of half marathons this year! & here I was thinking that I had done oh so many when I've done only 5 so far!

I see that you are from RI & I was curious if you had any planned for late November/December? I am currently training for a half right now during the off season for triathlons & I am looking for a race but it seems like there is nothing really out there in the area.

Where do you train?
