I can't put this on the back burner any longer.

Who am I? Would you believe a fitness expert with 5 certifications and several years teaching experience. I KNOW a lot about health and fitness, but my life has gotten out of control. I went from almost 190 lbs. to 145lbs. through healthy eating and exercise. I taught exercise for several years. I found that I feel better on a meat-less diet because of some digestive issues. I had 3 children in 4 years time and gained a lot of weight. None of my kids sleep much, so I've been pretty exhausted ...
Who am I? Would you believe a fitness expert with 5 certifications and several years teaching experience. I KNOW a lot about health and fitness, but my life has gotten out of control. I went from almost 190 lbs. to 145lbs. through healthy eating and exercise. I taught exercise for several years. I found that I feel better on a meat-less diet because of some digestive issues. I had 3 children in 4 years time and gained a lot of weight. None of my kids sleep much, so I've been pretty exhausted for about 5 years. Now, I sleep about 8 hours most nights but I'm still tired. I started to exercise again a few weeks ago and can't believe how far out of shape I've gotten. Now, I'm homeschooling my first daughter with some learning issues and my husband is working 50 hours and week and going back to college. If I don't do something soon, I'm either going to keep gaining or never lose anything.
I know the missing ingredient for me is to set goals and have some accountability. I've put myself on the "back burner" too long and I hate how I feel. It's time for some great changes.

My Goals:
A formidable foe. I AM going to reach 125lbs. That is a very healthy weight for me. I am only 5 foot and 3 inches tall, but a bit on the muscular side. I want to be healthy and have lots of energy, like I did before having children.

My Program:
I'm working on that. I have a few, minor health issues such as sinus/allergies and frequent migraines that often set me back. I am caring for 3 very young children and many days when the headaches come, I don't have the emotional reserve to stick with my healthy eating plan. I'm aiming for 1500-1800 a day, and eliminating meat from my diet. I am also reducing dairy. Through trial and error I find that I feel much better this way.

Personal Information:
I was overweight for my entire life. I come from a family of people who are all moderately overweight to obese, most being the latter. I became interested in losing weight in high school when my Grandmother did the diabetic exchange program and lost 150lbs. I tried it and it worked for me, but was hard to stick with. Tried other things since then with some success. Now I'm trying to make this a lifestyle by learning portion control without measurements so I can LIVE with this. I made it to 145lbs before my wedding, but had 3 babies in 4 years with some complications that left me at well over 200lbs.

Other Information:
I cannot teach my children balance, health and moderation through words alone. I must "be the change I want to see in the world". Hubby and I are transitioning our whole family to a healthy, vegetarian diet. I've had so many friends ask me quesions about how to do this, that I'm thinking of blogging our experience and the critical nutrtion information that I've learned.
