I joined SP in May, 2012. I retired in January 2013 after 34 yrs with the same company. Now I will have the time to do things I love doing and not be ruled by clocks. My goal is better health and well being. I enjoy friends, my dogs, gardening and exercising. I am glad to be part of Spark Team and I love the website.

My Goals:
Food goal - eat three healthy meals each day and stay between 1200-1800 calories

Fitness goal - exercise between 30 - 120 minutes per day.

My Program:
I try to be conscious of food selections and quantity of food. If I can just begin each day with exercise (30 min walking the dogs) I have a better day meeting my food/fitness goals.

Personal Information:
Born in Colorado but l have lived in Nebraska, Oregon, Missouri and Texas. I live in Texas now and plan to live here the rest of my life. I am active member in my church. I enjoy gardening, needlepoint, and listening to books.

Other Information:
The first thing that got me out of the house and into my neighborhood was walking my dog. Now I have two dogs and I walk with them every day.

For an easy way to stay motivated try this, this winter.
To begin this game, choose the state with the least letters
Work out for 10 min per letter. It can be done in a day, a week or whatever you'd like.
When you have completed your w/o (ex. Ohio=4 letters x 10 minutes= 40 minutes for Ohio.) shade it in on a map (if you'd like) and announce to us!

This is a really fun game especially if you're playing with other members of your team. You can copy it to yours if you want someone to join you! It has to be CARDIO only though. Walk in place, run, ride etc. (in your home, which is great for winter), or outside. I think this is a fun way to get through the cold months ahead. I am in 'Florida' right now. :) Good time to swim for my cardio points.

Thanks for the sunshine! I have to tell you though, that I'm a cold wimp..it was 49 F this am when I posted that. Luckily the sun did come out and it's now mid-60's and beautiful! Your sunshine showed up for real!
