Life as a "Little Less" Fluffy Girl

Hey everybody! Let me first give a shout out to my sister who encouraged me to get back on Spark people and start blogging again. I agreed to do so, because honestly, I like to have a following...sad but true! At any rate I think this will give me a great opportunity to journal my thoughts, down falls and successes as I begin ONCE AGAIN my weight loss and maintenance journey. Hey everybody! Let me first give a shout out to my sister who encouraged me to get back on Spark people and start blogging again. I agreed to do so, because honestly, I like to have a following...sad but true! At any rate I think this will give me a great opportunity to journal my thoughts, down falls and successes as I begin ONCE AGAIN my weight loss and maintenance journey. You see I once was a fluffy girl, but thanks to gastric sleeve surgery, a great support team and of course the great Lord above, I am now a "little less" fluffy (give or take a few pounds). My goal now is to just maintain, learn to live a healthier lifestyle and blog my journey along the way. I have been a spark people junkie in the past, but lost my spark mojo. So here I go again...maybe third time really will be the charm. BTW my sisters and I are all working together to share in this weight loss journey. I will refer to them often in my blogs. These are the wonderful ladies in the picture. I am the FAT one to the right of the skinny sister (pre gastric surgery). So that's my story. I hope you'll follow me on this crazy ride!

Thanks for posting on my blog! As for your question on what I am doing to build up jogging speeds and distances... I use the treadmill to mark my goals. I start out with walking to warm up. Then I go to speed 3.0 until it feels comfortable. Then I increase until I feel comfortable again. I am now up to 3.6 miles per hour. Sometimes, I will go to 4.0 and try that pace until I tire out, then drop to slightly above where I was comfortable with and then I find that speed easy. Other ways to increase is to do sprints (speed 5.0 or higher) for 30-45 seconds then do 60-90 second walks. Do this in 8 or so repetitions.... Another training method I use is to either jog on a slight incline or walk on a high incline just to build leg muscle. I still have yet to do an official 5k race...I definitely want to this year!
