Bipolar in Holland...

Life is complicated enough without having to deal with an illness every day. Unfortunately, many of us face these additional challenges each day due to physical or mental illness or disability. Life is complicated enough without having to deal with an illness every day. Unfortunately, many of us face these additional challenges each day due to physical or mental illness or disability. In my case, a bipolar disorder (or manic depression) complicates my life to the point that it sometimes becomes unmanageable.

However, there's plenty of hope! I know I need structure and a regular life more than anything else. Also, keeping active, both mentally and physically, is very important (of course, this goes for all of us).

Along with a positive attitude, this program helps me to achieve these important goals in such a way that they are sustainable. We all have unlimited potential; it's just a matter of creating the conditions to utilize this potential to the fullest. That's the only way to find happiness despite (or maybe because of) adversity. It's up to you to make the best use of the opportunities life offers you.

My Goals:
Live healthy and prosper! I want to loose weight for the health benefits that it brings, and to improve my self-image. But, my main goal is to create structure and regularity in my life to make my bipolar disorder manageable.

My Program:
Using the mealtracker, and monitoring my other goals. I've added some that keep track of structure (like a sleep log). I am planning to excercise three times a week.

Personal Information:
I live in the south of the Netherlands. I am single, and I have three cats and lots of tropical fishies... ;-)

Other Information:
My hobbies are scale modelling, making music, watching tv and movies and computers. I play the piano and I use my computer to compose electronic music.

Cute furbabies! Looks like your older baby is wise to let them have the helm. LOL

I just saw you lost a kitty on someone elses post.
I am so sorry.
I have lost several in the past few years.
My 9 year old dog just started with seizures, she may have a brain tumor. I hate this part of life.
hugs,
Robin

Love your Cat and your babies!
My son is also bipolar.
He is almost 18.
Life has been very hard for all of us .
He takes his meds sometimes.
Wanna talk sometime? It's up to you.
Maybe you can help me understand some?
Maybe I can listen when you need an ear? (:
Robin
