Well, basically, I'm a personal trainer, boxing coach and certified nutritionist. However, I have had severe asthma since childhood and have been on steriod medication for it since forever :) I was never allowed to do sports as a child because I would usually have an asthma attack, but when I was 11-12 I remember wanting to go running with my dad. He took me out and after 1 minute I was weezing, but he told me to just keep walking and not stand still. So I did. That was my first step towards fitness and since then I have slowly succeeded in bringing my fitness levels up. I can run marathons and own a gym with my family where we teach boxing and health and fitness. I've always tried to focus on health and fitness, but weight is still an issue. We eat healthy but enjoy our food - and me moreso due to the side effects of the steriods for my asthma. I chose to give up on my asthma medication for my 2011 resolution - and I have not taken any steriod inhaler, tablets ect since. The only asthma medication I carry still is my ventolin inhaler incase. I use a powerbreathe to train my lungs, which helps me warm up faster for my training.

My father always says to me that fitness comes from within. There are no excuses to not be healthy but a million reasons to be healthy. I fully believe this. I used to accept that I couldn't train because I had asthma - but training has nearly 'cured' my asthma - so to speak.

My goal here is to help monitor my changes. Putting things online makes you take notice more than just writing it in a journal.

My Goals:
To train myself to completely elimate the need for a ventolin inhaler - haha - and to drop those stubborn pounds :D


My Program:
Mostly cardio running with hills and interval training along with long slow runs. Aim to cover at least 5 km a day. Cutting back on the weights at the moment as I used to be a powerlifter trainer so I'm quite a strong girl already. Would like to lean out the muscle in the end... Cardio for now, toning after hitting the 10lb goal :)



Personal Information:
I'm Scottish. I'm 5'6. I'm a fitness enthusiast due to never being able to train as a child - I was basically a bubble child due to my asthma. ( My dad told me I died when I was three for a little bit because my lungs shut up - but I don't remember)


Other Information:
I'm just looking for buddies here so we can all bounce ideas and useful advice back off each other. Everybody is different and our bodies all work slightly differently, but one thing is for sure - no matter what route our journeys take us on, they all begin with putting one foot in front of the other :)

    Hey! How was your week? I love getting your posts, they're always so encouraging emoticon . My workouts have been going really well lately. I've been doing longer workout sessions. Before I was only working out for about 40 minutes total. Now I've been doing 40 minutes of weights and 40 of cardio.

    My biggest problem is that I keep going over with my calories. I really want to focus this week on staying on track.

    I like the breakfast ideas you suggested! I'm going to try to incorporate them into my meal planning this week. I'm not in residence this term so I'm in complete control of my diet.

    I'm thinking I should put my food tracker public like yours. It would keep me accountable and probably prevent me from eating so much emoticon .

    I guess I just have to remember that everything happens one step at a time. If any of this was easy, then everyone would be healthy (and skinny).

    I also struggle with the food portion of this health journey. After two years of knowing better, I still have days where the pizza-candy-bagel monster in me rears its ugly head.

    I'm sooo sorry I'm the worst spark buddy. School has been ridiculous. It feels nice to breath again and go to bed at normal hours.

    HOW ARE YOU? How has your program been going? It looks like you're making great progress!

    Is the weather getting colder where you are? I feel like such a dork when I wear my winter coat over my workout capris on my way to the gym.

    Also, what do you normally eat for breakfast? I feel really uninspired lately by steel cut oats and cinnamon.

    it's officially shark week! Aunt Flo came to town today...i was gaining weight the other day and this explains why...so weird that you are LOSING weight this time of the month?? boy i can't wait till my scales read 1-3-5! then i'll be firmly planted in 130-ville. aren't they so nice?? they sent us both welcome mats for coming to town!! my favorite ville so far; i started in 150-ville, and 130-ville is the most active town yet so far, with the sweeeetest people! we should set up residence in their hi-rise apartments, hehe! you'd be on the 5th floor and me on the 8th....everybody there is super nice..n they have a halloween challenge going on right now but you should join the next challenge with me! it'll be a challenge to get to 120-ville by such-and-such a date! we should travel the villes together! :D i mean, c'mon, we even pms together LMFAO!!!!
