Nothing feels so good.... as Peace feels.

Having lost weight before and then lost the battle (many times), this is my last chance to become and stay healthy the rest of my life, as I'm over 70. Having lost weight before and then lost the battle (many times), this is my last chance to become and stay healthy the rest of my life, as I'm over 70. My goal is to make this my last journey to lose weight -- slow or fast, my goal is to continue to get healthier and honor God with how I take care of His temple. When I look in the mirror, I know I'm obese, but now as I attempt to buy insurance, I'm restricted from many policies because of my weight. Spark People site has been incredible in helping me get on the right path and I am so thankful.

March/2012: Now about 5.5 months since starting this path: I'm delighted that I can report a 40 pound weight loss, despite the holidays and some dreadful plateaus. I'm thrilled and thankful beyond description that God led me to this website. PRISM Weight Loss Program is an incredible Christian program where I learned so much about nutrition and that I felt better when I fasted from whites. I lost a lot of weight using it, but then lost focus when it came to maintenance and slowly but surely gained the weight back. When I started this journey again I realized counting calories is fundamental to my losing weight, so SP has been incredible. It will be with me forever.... I'm praising the Lord that losing is continuing. Cholesterol had dropped to 149 at my January annual physical as a result of my diet changes... so off anti-cholesterol medicine. Blood Pressure normal without medications and no more "a little bit high" glucoses. God has blessed me!

June/2012: Now I can claim a 60 pound weight loss and into ONEderland... and half way to my goal. All I can say is: thank you, Lord, for being with me on this journey and for Your strength in my perseverance.....

August/2012: Now I can claim a 70 pound weight loss and am enjoying ONEderland. I joined SparkCoach to challenge me to continue to goal, as I still have a long ways to go. I feel so much better, it would be easy to stop "here" rather than continue on. I'm enjoying the consistency and challenges of Spark Coach.

8/14/14… two years later, having watched the scale go down then up, taking two steps forward and three steps back. I think I'm back on track on this healthy journey to weight loss. A constant daily issue that's for sure. I love carbs, but find that losing weight requires NO carbs in my food plan. Maybe someday, I'll figure out how to eat appropriately and consistently so that I will maintain at a lower weight….

I wanted to find out how your plateau busting program is working. I'm doing good on mine. 5 lbs down so far in August. I wish the program lasted a couple of months instead of 28 days.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. There are so many activities to help us along.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon I hope you have fun ones you can do to push your metabolism up a notch.

It does my heart good to read that you are 70 and still losing the weight. I was about to give up because I will be 70 this month and wondering should I start now isn't it a little too late. but reading you blog has given me some hope. I am going to start with my food portions. I can hardly walk. I am in such bad shape. I still work but just walking to my car and i am huffing and puffing. We can do this together. Thanks for your words. They hit the right spot. Your Friend . emoticon
