A Little Time For Me!

I am a caregiver for my disabled husband, my Mom and my Dad. I have worked outside the home also for 31 years and was forced into retirement by losing my job due to the office closing. I realized that I have been taking care of everyone else and not myself. I found out I have CAD and now have to do something to help myself or I won't be here to take care of anyone else.

"The strongest single factor in prosperity consciousness is self-esteem. Believing you can do it, believing you deserve it, believing you will get it." ~ Jerry Gillies

I don't know about you, but I am struggling to develop a belief in myself. I think that's probably true of many of us here on Spark due to past life experiences and interactions. I think we should all repeat "I believe in myself and I deserve to reach my goals" to ourselves frequently!

emoticon I too cannot imagine what they are going through this holiday. My nephew was a good kid at heart who was making some poor decisions in his life. He is now in a safer place, not better, but safer.

Thanks for asking about my mom. The endoscopy didn't show any reason that she is plagued with bouts of pancreatitis. That was a relief. She does have a 5-inch hernia that might be aggravated or aggravating. Her doctor suggests she try to lose 15 pounds because fat around this hernia makes it worse. She's already tried to eat a fat-free diet and says it helps with GERD. Hopefully stopping fat-laden foods, including fried foods, will keep her from developing a future attack--they are painful!

Yes, these are small sacrifices to make especially when there is the carrot of a cruise at the end of it all. Thanks for stopping by my blog. emoticon
