It's been ten years now that I have been on this journey. I started at SP when I weighed 263 pounds. My highest weight was 271 pounds. My lowest weight was 205 (before Christmas) and right now it yo-yo's between 209 and 215. That doesn't seem like a lot of weight for 10 years - but I had two diseases that I didn't know about that were fighting me, that will continue to fight me. One is a more common disease called lymphedema. Mine is hyperlymphedema because I've had it my whole life. It's also known as Milroy Disease. The fluid in my lymph system is very viscous or thick and it doesn't move through on it's own, it just sits there and collects more and more fluid. You can get lymphedema after breast surgery if the lymph node under the arm is affected, then the arm on that side will swell because the fluid won't be able to move as it should through that arm. It wasn't until about 7 years ago that I learned I had this disease, but my doctor didn't know the proper way to treat it, so I wasn't doing what needed to be done to get rid of the fluid, sabotaging some of my efforts to lose weight because I kept adding fluid. I was also suffering from pain in my legs and arms, as well as easily bruising. I looked up some reasons for that and thought maybe it was fibromyalgia, but ran across lipedema and every symptom matched me to a "tee". When I went to the therapist for my lymphedema, she took one look at me and thought that I probably had lipedema as well - I'm pear shaped with large calves. When I told her my symptoms, she said it was a classic case and I've probably had it since I was born - it just showed up when I started puberty. I've had people comment on my large calves since I was in my late teens and early twenties. Not a single doctor picked up on this disease. This is where fat collects under the skin, under the lymph system actually. There isn't a diet or exercise that can get rid of it - only liposuction can remove the fat. So my whole life I've been putting on fluid and fat at the same time I've been trying to take it off. I've also had a bad stomach at a time where proton pump inhibitors weren't available, so I ate a lot of carbs to keep the acid from taking over my gut. So, after 10 years I finally lost 60 pounds, or thereabouts. My arms and calves haven't changed and now I've run into the problem of finding clothes that fit! My arms are two sizes bigger than my torso and my calves are a couple pant sizes bigger than my hips.
I say all of that to say this, I never quit trying even though my body seemed to be against me. I determined at the beginning of this battle that I wasn't going to quit. I was sick and tired of starting and stopping and having to retake ground over and over again. It's taken a long time, but that weight is gone, never to be put back on again. Never give up!

When you are in your reading mode, open your book then tap in the middle of the page - on the top right you should see the Aa, tap on that and you will see that you can change the text size there. You can also change the font to something more easy to read.

To change the font size on your device, go to your home page and swipe down from the top. You will see the gear for "settings". Tap that. Under "device" find "display". Under that you should find "font size". Now that is how it is done on my Fire. It is probably a little different on yours and you may have to get in touch with Amazon, but they are supper easy to talk to. I usually just send an e-mail, or you can chat. If you can't figure it out, here is how to get in contact with Amazon. Go to your Amazon account page. At the very bottom, on the right you will see "Help", click on that. A page will come up and you will see "Device Support", click on that and then click on the device you are needing help with. If you don't find help in their regular Q&A section, then on the very left you will see a button that says "Contact Us". Click on that and choose the way you want to contact them. Sometimes I want them to call me now - so I put in my phone number and almost immediately someone calls me (someone American), and they are really helpful! Or you can chat with someone right on your device, but that isn't helpful if you can't see the words. I SHOULD HAVE USED CAPITALS IN ALL OF THIS - SORRY ABOUT THAT! LOL! DUH! I HOPE THAT HELPED SOME. IF YOU NEED ANY MORE HELP, JUST LET ME KNOW. LOVE YA, SWEETIE-GREENS!
