Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
It is time to scale back. To go to the beach and not dodge harpoons. To take my shirt off and not see folks diving for cover. To have tone mean more than a musical note. Essentially, to be fitter at 50 than I ever was in my 40's. Deadline: April 11, 2012 ...
This is not a small task. My body has seen more neglect and abuse than the youthful Pip amid the alleys of London. But I have great expectations: Lose the weight; strengthen the muscles; and play respectable tennis again. No small task for someone with Ankylosing Spondylitis and a surgically repaired neck. It's time to RESET!
To play a full, respectable tennis match with my teenage son, once I finish teaching him the game. To have my chest enter a room before my tummy. To stand straighter and feel stronger on my 50th birthday in April, 2012, than I did on my 40th. To play shortstop for the Washington Nationals. OK, that may be a reach...
** Reform nutrition
** Embrace exercise
** Surrender bad habits
** Enliven activities
** Transcend limitations
Presently of Annandale, VA, and nestled in Sleepy Hollow Woods for more than a decade. Quite a distance from my native East Texas, which I dearly miss. I love playing tennis, and follow baseball year-round (yes, that IS year-round). Married my college sweetheart and have a son in high school and a daughter who will start at The College of William & Mary in Fall 2011.
"That was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. But, it is the same with any life. Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day."

Thanks for dropping by my page and reading my most recent blog. I appreciate the vote of confidence and all the support I have received, yours just being one of many.
I have done really well up until recently...just striving to get my Mo-Jo back. If it's to be, it's up to me. I enjoyed checking out your page and am pleased to meet another fellow East Texan. I am a transplant but here to stay.
Upwards and onwards!! Good luck in your journey.

Mook-Reset, thanks so much for taking time to stop by. I really appreciate your visit. Your avatar name 'reset' has preyed or rather stayed on my mind for days now. I like it. The concept & image I see (your intent may be completely different) is: program files are corrupt, system crash, deep blue screen, press reset!

Hi Mook - I added you as a friend b/c I like what you wrote - plus I enjoy your sense of humor! It was hard when my son left for college (only child) so I can kind of relate - but the earthquake and now hurricane - holy cow. You guys hang tough over there! Els
