My Goals:
my goal is to be wise enough to build my body up

I am using sparkpeople as a tool to turn to people and spell out and subsequently dispell the emotional issues that I usually eat over. I thank God for giving me people to turn to instead of the substance of food. I'm trying to follow a food plan given to me by a dietician.

Personal Information:
I am a single, divorced mother of a grown son. I work as a legal secretary. I like to play chess, love music, science, writing.

Other Information:
All things work for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

RESERVED1948...... I ran across your spark page today and want you to know I'm praying that you will have a great WINNING (losing) 2012. If 1948 happens to be the year your were born, you aren't far behind me :)

I don't know if this will work for you, but in September I stopped eating all sugar, bread, rice, pasta, etc and focused on meat and vegetables primarily. I do eat some fruit. Then I was working Christmas Day, and of course there were all kinds of goodies.... I ate 1/2 piece of pumpkin bread and the rest of the day was downfall.... I had a headache, I was food seeking the rest of the day.

Living alone, I have found that I need to cook - prepare food in individual servings and keep them ready in the freezer to prepare a meal. I buy ham, pork loin, or beef roast and have my grocery store slice them into serving sizes that end up to be about 4-5 oz. then I cook vegetables and store in 1 cup servings (most anything). And I have salad makings to have one meal a salad most days. I boil eggs and keep them in the refrigerator for a "quick fix" and to add to my salad. I eat about 2 eggs per day.

I'm ONLY saying all these things to PERHAPS give you some ideas to help conquer your eating..... I have been up/down my whole life, winning and then losing the battle of weight loss.

Interestingly enough, all the pundants say that you MUST eat breakfast, well, I have discovered that my body is LESS HUNGRY during the morning when I don't eat breakfast, but I have started drinking a fiber drink and a cup of low fat, low sodium broth for breakfast for about 100 calories, then I eat a lunch and a supper/dinner and save about 100 calories to eat after 8pm... I even made a separate category in my food category called "after 8" :)

I just see a lot of pain in all the time you have been on Spark and seemingly failed in your desire to lose weight. I hope you find help in OA (I went to a few meetings a few years ago). I have been to WW, Nutri-System, PRISM, fasting, low calorie, Adkins..... been there done that over the years and finally have found a home in Spark People. I hope you are involved in a good Bible preaching church and perhaps a woman's bible study (like Beth Moore or something).

I encourage you to increase protein, vegetables, and leave out the "whites" in your diet and see if that works for you.....
