All Though She Be But Little, She Is Fierce

I've been on a weight loss journey as long as I can remember. Losing 5 to 10 pounds always seemed like the answer to all of life's problems. At the end of college I had put on 50+ pounds and continued to put on the weight until I was at an all time high of 210. I've been on a weight loss journey as long as I can remember. Losing 5 to 10 pounds always seemed like the answer to all of life's problems. At the end of college I had put on 50+ pounds and continued to put on the weight until I was at an all time high of 210. My husband and I wanted to have children and I knew I had to lose weight to do it successfully. I got motivated and lost about 50 pounds with Weight Watchers. Went on to have two kids. Then began to spiral out of control again. I was diagnosed with psychiatric issues, an autoimmune disease and a thyroid problem. I am now on a journey to wellness. I have found that many foods effect me negatively. My focus in more on staying healthy and energetic then it is on losing weight. My more recent high weight was 166. I was down to 140 when I decided to try SparkPeople to get a handle on what I was putting in my body each day calorie/fat wise. I love it! I can't wait to meet people and form connections to help me on my journey. Along the way I've tried every diet out there, or so it seems, if you ever want to talk I'm a pretty good listener.

My Goals:
I will have a healthy BMI.

I will run a 1/2 Marathon in October of 2012.

I will keep my auto-immune disease, Sjogren's, at bay.

My Program:
I eat clean, no sugar, dairy, or processed carbs. It is close to a Paleo diet. I have found this keeps my inflammation low.

I am currently doing C25K 3 times a week and burst training 2 times a week.

Personal Information:
I currently live in St. Louis. I was born in New Orleans and spent my high school years in Chicago. I am a proud Fighting Illini Alumni. I am also married with two kids 8 and 5.

People disappear for all sorts of reasons. Life gets in the way, we forget or change our views on what we deem is important, we get buried under stress, frustration, illness. We sometimes give up, throw in the towel, or just promise ourselves that once things get better/easier/calmer, we will hitch up our socks and come back fresh. We've all done it. We've all been there. And if perhaps, you just need a supportive hug, or a helping hand or a word of inspiration, please know that I am offering it to you with no judgment, no guilt. Happy Almost Spring!! This coming Tuesday marks the Spring Equinox and in preparation for the first day of the new season I would like to wish you a brand new start, never-ending moments of poise and balance and a joyful tip over on the scale to the side of light. I wish you a new dawn, an eternal youth and a morning star to wish on. Thank you for your comment on my page!! I really appreciate it!! It's taken a lot of effort and dedication to get where I am in my life and health, but it's all been worth it. Now it's just about balancing, and going with the flow as life's priorities continually shift. :)
