Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I came here to learn how to manage my life, to face the challenges of health issues associated with a chronic illness that is destroying my body. I feel that Spark People saved my sanity through education. The articles and video's, the challenge teams, tracking my food and exercise puts me back into control of how I live day to day.
My faith in God gives me strength, His gifts to me include the gift of humor, it is so cleansing to be able to laugh. I know that no matter how deep the pit, how dark the moment, my Lord is with me, always. He holds me in the palm of His Hands, giving me comfort and love. I praise Him for all He is.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored they go out for a stroll through my mouth.. this is rarely a good thing...Scott Westerfield

I go by Kat, my name is Kathy, I am married to Dave, have three grown children, Naomi, Adina, and Jeremy. We have four grand-children now; Naomi's sons, Elijah and Jonah; Adina's daughters, Alyssa and Maddy. She lost her son, who was only 15 on Jan.21, 2011, Aaron, to young and very much missed.
Dave and I live in Reno, Nevada, with our youngest son, Jeremy and are owned by four cats and one dog.
We love Reno, it is above 4500 feet, a high plain desert, surrounded by mountains and hills, only 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe and a wonderful place to live.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ and am blessed by Him and the love and care He gives me in all things.

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls,
but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies,
preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime,
but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity,
but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes,
attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir's cantata
but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.
Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return
but rejoices in giving to those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost,
golf clubs will rust, but giving the gift of LOVE will endure.
