    Hi Sweety,

Thank you, so much, for your encouraging testimony on my page. God has done some amazing things in your life and has shown you that He has the power to deliver you from pretty much every addiction in your life. But it seems that there's still that one little food area that's not being delivered as quickly as you'd like it to. Yeah, I know EXACTLY what you're going through. I think, for the rest of my life, I'm going to have to contend with my food addiction. God intended for it to sustain our lives, but for me (and most of society), we use it to enhance our lives. Fellowship in every culture is spelled F-O-O-D.

Doesn't it seem like the things we're the most afraid of letting go are the things God has the hardest time delivering us from? Once I got saved, I had no need of my drug and alcohol addiction or the friends who encouraged me to do drugs with them and God delivered me immediately. I didn't have enough money to purchase cigarettes and therefore, had no need for them and God delivered me from THEM immediately. Fears of all sorts, hinder me and keep me in their control so one by one, God is delivering me from them as well. But food? Now THAT'S a different story. We all need food. It's not like we can live without it for very long. so it's really not a matter of getting set free from it. But we don't need the ADDICTION or the emotional baggage that comes with it, so why can't we get deliverance from that?

I think we can. But just like with our other addictions, we have to be willing to surrender them to God...FULLY, before He can take that addiction away.

I'll pray for you, and you pray for me. God has the power to help us overcome EVERY obstacle. We are more than overcomers the bible says, and I KNOW, He can do this work in us.

May the God who gave up the crown and all the benefits of a royal existance to take our rightful place on the cross, display His power and authority in your life and over your addictions.
