Hi, welcome to my page! I am married to the man of my dreams, finally!!! (Third time around for me!) We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Our children (he has 3 and I have 1) are all grown and no longer living at home. My stepdaughter blessed us with a grandson on October 5, 2007. His due date was December 12. He weighed in at 3 lbs 9 ozs and had a huge fight ahead of him with pneumonia, collapsed lung, brain hemorrage which lead to fluid on his brain and a brain surgery to release the fluid. Today he is beautifully healthy, thank god! He is my miracle angel and I thank God every day. His name is Quincy and thankfully he lives near us!
Feb. 2, 2009 Update: My husband was diagnosed with "chordoma" a very rare form of cancer on his tail bone. The chordoma foundation is an awesome website for info. It is operable, and we will survive this. Life as we have known it will change drastically for us in the coming weeks. I'll post to my blog when I get a chance to update everyone!
To become healthier, by losing weight and exercising and/or walking. To lose 50 lbs by July 30, 2008.
I am using slimfast (actually equate brand) twice a day, 1 lean gourmet meal a day, 2 fruit snacks a day and water/crystal light/sobe life water/coffee.
I have reset my trackers for the second time. I can only hope and pray that I will not have to do that again. I orginally planned to drop 25 lbs by the end of August 07, unfortunately I hit a snag. I have put all the weight back on and then some!! Nonetheless, I still need to lose 50 lbs!
Since then I have quit smoking, had gallbladder surgery and put on way too much weight as food is my favorite stress reliever!
Two years ago I had a hysterectomy and have not been able to lose the weight. It also threw me into menopause, so I am dealing with hot flashes, night sweats, etc.
I am no longer on any medications for the mental-pause and smoking. I have the symptoms under control.
I swear I'm going to make it this time!
My most valuable and cherished moment in this life is the birth of Quincy. If a tiny baby boy can fight his way through all the things he has had to endure and come out healthy, I believe I can lose this weight and be here for him for a really long time. He is truly my inspiration!

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. I’ve been here for over a year now, and I still am overwhelmed, every day, by the kindness and goodness of others on this team!! That has made a world of difference for me. Be sure to ask questions if you have them ... someone will likely have the answer. If you haven't started using the tools SparkPeople provides, do! They are invaluable. Track your food, track your exercise ... it will make you see what you are actually doing and see where changes are needed or where you can pat yourself on the back. If you feel an emotional eating attack coming on, come to the boards first. Write about it instead of pushing the feelings away with food. We're here for you!
