It was my 2nd year in college at Texas State University. I was young, but knew what I wanted in life. I felt that it was time to prepare myself to become a young woman and that meant professionally, emotionally, and physically. I was done being the funny girl in high school. I wanted to be the beautiful woman that I knew I could be. I wanted to be taken seriously and didn't feel that being at 268 pounds was helping me with that goal. So I decided to make a change. I began going to the gym before school, eating only a salad all day, and then working out again after school. After 6 months of this type of schedule I was weighing 220 pounds. It was working, but I was physically tired from eating only one salad a day. I started hanging out daily with a great boxer friend of mine, Trey, who was trained physically and emotionally. We began to workout together and eat together; we were watching out for eachther. I eventually got down to 182 pounds. Trey became a national recognized boxer, and I had to do the workouts and eat right on my own. So i would wake up early morning jump rope, run around the track, and shoot hoops. I would eat 5 times a day, but very small portions of healthy food. I then got down to 175 pounds. That is when I met my boyfriend, Andrew. I gained 8 pounds back. The question hurt, but did come up. "Why haven't you gone to they gym anymore, or ran any more marathons?" Andrew said. It hurt. My self conscience is still low, so i thought he thought I was still fat or not pretty. He explained himself saying "that's the person who you are, you loved to workout and now you don't anymore. you need to continue doing what makes you happy." So here I am 3 months after he said that and I started working out, doing zumba, eating healthy. And he's right, I feel so much better about myself. Now I'm at 157 pounds at 5'7. I am very proud of myself but have set bigger goals for myself that I know I can achieve. Here I come 145 pounds! ;]

    Thanks for commenting on my blog. Without my personal challenge, I would not have engaged in cardio near as much as I did. I'm thinking of doing it again for October.

    I just finished A Game of Thrones, the first book in the FIre and Ice series, what the HBO show is based on. Loved. It. I thought I'd like it before I even knew it was a TV series! As a book-freak, I always think the books are better. But the TV show is interesting. I'm about to pick up book 2!

    We are about in the same place. I am 157 right now, I am having a very hard time getting out of the 150's. I have been stuck here the
    entire month of August. After Labor Day I plan on getting real serious about my weight loss goals. This weekend over labor day my DH and I are planning a weekend road trip to Key West, that is why i say after the Labor Day Weekend.
